Leave me in my menu PLEASE
Everytime you’re trying to go through your vaults many pages, or switch a weapon; if the game loads a new area or many other things it kicks you and you have to start over. It’s so annoying when I’m trying to scroll 12 pages over in my vault and it keeps kicking me. PLEASE LEAVE US IN THE MENUS WE CHOOSE TO BE IN. Anyone else?

Edited by viiTactiiCZz: 6/6/2025 7:09:09 PMiirc D1 did let you stay but it resulted in some items being lost (im not 100% on this though) and you could hold your team hostage during load screens, so for D2 it was changed. The forced menu kicks are there to prevent inventory losses between transitions (ie host swaps during loading in, as you're passed from matchmaking to host etc). The only real alternative to it at this point, given we're 10 years into Destiny as a whole and that pretty much every other game does not let you touch your inventory during load times, would likely be to just simply block inventory access during load. Game is spaghetti coded to the max and at this point I'll be surprised if any fixes are proper fixes rather than just band-aid 'hope it sticks' fixes.

It's to stop you losing items. I know when not to go into the menus, surely others do too by now. Guess it's better to just moan on the forums 😆

As has been said below, it's to prevent loss of your items and will not change. Your inventory is not stored locally and making changes during a transition could corrupt data, losing the item and many moons ago Bungie stated they could not recover lost assets. Let's face it, they can't even access their own files after vaulting. ;)

If they allow you to do that you will come back here to cry about you losing gear all of a sudden. If they close your menu its basically between server changes to avoid having player switching gear at the exact same time as they load. Thus preventing items from disappearing) (Or to prevent duplicate gear also) Also think about other games, they straight up dont allow you to navigate your menus during loading screens. You can handle 2s of "no menus" x)

This wont get fixed because it is itself a bodge fix to another issue. Way back when the game was new it was found that if you moved gear and weapons about at certain points in various load transitions the items could be lost. Bungo's bodge of a fix was to kick you from your menu at every such load/transition so you couldn't be moving loot at the time. As they almost certainly can't or won't fix the underlying problem the kick will likely be stay forever.

Why the f do we even need to flip 20 pages to find something. Make it more user friendly by adding a drop down list per category. Like weapons > scout rifles armor > chest pieces No need to flip/scroll 20 pages anymore just to find 1 item in a 700 list. Feels like adding a memory game into a shooter

It's like going to a restaurant, having ten seconds to look at the menu before it's pulled away and you're asked what you want to order. And if you don't give an answer you'll just receive something random.
