How many cracking PvE weapons did we have that were nerfed to bits because of PvP reasons? I’ve lost count.
Never mind the current toxicity of PvP, according to many posts, Bungie refused to Ring Fence and isolate PvP Weapons for PvE and vice versa.
This cowardice, in my opinion, skewed metrics without discussion of the “must do PvP to complete PvE Paths” thereby presenting a false metric combining Press Ganged, mainly PvE, Players with Try Hards and genuine PvP Fans. “Look at our metrics, players love PvP 😂”
Being a PvE or PvP Master, with a few being both, would have been easily been recognised.
These comments do not detract from PvP Enthusiasts being neglected in every way. No dedicated servers to clamp down on cheaters and improve their experience, complete lack of new maps and the elephant in the room, Cross Play with PCs.
Destiny is in its twilight phase, as of yet I haven’t came across anyone in my Clan who’s even willing to try Marathon when it’s released. Bungie Bosses have not just misread the room, they inhabit their own echo chamber where all they hear is sycophants.
Can’t do is passed off as “Over Producing”, listening to a couple of dozen streamers instead of tens of thousands of players, harder instead of better and now, the absence of fun. It seems their Golden Goose has been well and truly cooked.
Bungie hasn’t been alone in whats it’s done to itself, Ubisoft comes to mind as a fellow traveler who also didn’t listen to actual fans. The number of capable competent developers turfed out of their employment because of bad management decisions is staggering. As many Gaming Studios sink into memory, it seems only senior management ever get the life belts.
In my opinion, there’s not many bad Companies, but there seems to be no shortage of bad Boardrooms.

IMO the PvP neglect hasn’t killed destiny, it’s killed bungie because no one has any faith in them being able to make a good PvP game in marathon after seeing d2. Just adds on to the bad stuff on marathon
