Throttle the loot, of course, but please make explore mode raids a thing. Only low stat armor, weapons cannot drop with deep sight or have resonators used on them, and of course the exotic and adepts cannot drop. But even that level of challenge and loot would be a Godsend for so many players who can't experience raids for whatever reason.
I personally don't need an explore mode to earn raid loot, but a matchmade explore mode would make raiding a lot more palatable for a lot people who don't have many friends, have a hard time with more difficult challenges, or don't want to run difficult raids when they're subject to bad rng and only want a single item. Accessibility gets a huge boost, while the actually good loot that top players want is still exclusive to master mode, or just normal mode if you only want the crafted versions.

Edited by xbroggiex: 5/9/2025 12:35:19 PMimo explore modes work for dungeons because of the simplified mechanics. Doubt it would work for raids though with how their mechanics require communication or doing something in a set order. You can also solo dungeons, while raid mechanics don't really allow you to solo them.

I'd say explore mode should only have world drop gear so that way if you want to actually get the raid gear or exotic you gotta play the standard or master mode, you learn and experience the raid through explore then challenge yourself on the harder difficulties for the rewards, it's the best way to implement this without making standard mode redundant. Also think explore mode should be available later down the line say after all challenges come out.

Explore mode raids would be amazing to be able to showcase raid mechanics to new players before having to go through the actual thing.

That's what I have been saying all along Some people learn best by doing If they had a training wheels practice version of raids, with only single perk non craftable weapons dropping and no exotic chance Then people could build confidence doing the mechanics, and jump into the real thing with any lfg group, because they would really KWTD -
Explore mode is pretty fun. I feel that after a dungeon /raid come out the explore mode should follow a few weeks later after the competitive completions. it’s nice to take it easy and learn. I would get more end game time And feel more comfortable going into the higher difficulties after some practice.

Agreed, explore mode, 3-6 person fireteams. Matchmaking or private. Base raid gear, not the shiny ultimate stuff, but def the gear as a solid step to do the full raid on the next difficulty. Having more people trained up on how to do it, makes the community have a better pool. Even hints on how to maximize your build for raids, as you go through the explore mode would be awesome.
