I'm loving the explorer mode.
Fantastic idea and hope it opens into other things for solo players.
I wouldn't have the loot the same as for playing dungeons (maybe raids in the future) properly (with the difficulties as they would be normally), maybe give old season exotics and legendaries or something?
Anyway, I don't care about the loot, I'm just really enjoying the gameplay option.

I ran Explorer twice, then LFG'd to a regular clear this morning. No emblem though. It's a great way to introduce people to Dungeons. I posted a whole back about getting a tutorial mode with no rewards so I could learn Raids and Dungeons. This mode, and rewards too, is great and I hope it continues. Looking forward to doing Prophecy and Ghosts of the Deep too. Got some good loot. How about an Explorer mode for a raid Bungie ?? I found the regular run of Spire challenging, one of my team mates knew it like the back of his hand and did most of the work. But Explorer was the right blend for me of helping me learn but also leaving a bit of a bit of challenge in normal mode. This is a great addition to the game.
-
Is it EXACT SAME mechanics? I don't want to look like an idiot doing my first real run after learning explorer and the other players either start trash talking or disband.
-
Edited by Tis-but-a-scratch: 5/8/2025 12:42:22 PMI like it, but a few critiques. 1. Can’t just stop and read the tutorials when being shot at. 2. Still don’t know where to stand during damage phase at the top of the tower. Felt like I was a hindrance to the randoms I was with. 3. Not always sure where to go and when. So I was constantly way behind. But with more time played and “on the job learning” I’m sure I’ll get better.

Not gonna lie, I’m absolutely devastated that even for soloing the Spire of The Watcher I have no chance of getting my cowboy hat. That said, I’m psyched to finally experience these dungeons without dragging a fireteam down. Spire is great, and the tooltips explaining the mechanics are so bloody beautiful, I can’t believe Bungie is only now including them. Hopefully these teaching aids become a thing after the Contest Mode races are done.
-
Same here, first time I done the dungeon and solo. This explorer mode helped me a lot.
-
I agree. It was a good refresher on the dungeon and helps me practice for when/if I decide to do it on a hard mode for better loot. Helps you see what weapons and loadouts are best and when to use them. The loot isn’t terrible on explorer mode either. I’m getting good rolls and my final reward for completing on explorer mode was a masterworked double perk wilderflight from that special chest at nine lady. Good enough for me

Edited by Joulevette12: 5/8/2025 11:41:16 AMPpl can say no for raids but it needs to happen the pool of players who do raids is small and if a "Explorer Mode Raid" can fix that then gd You want more ppl to do raids but refuse to have dead weight or teach ppl on your team the crazy amount LFG with KWTD is proof of that and the players that do create a fireteams with "no experience" no one joins them since no one wants to teach them this does it for them and it's way better then watching a video off of YouTube not giving you hands on experience. Explorer mode for raids I'm game for and the great feedback it's being received for dungeons shows it.
-
It's a great way for players to learn the mechanics and what to expect, this helps many players willing to give it try and eventually play on the tougher difficulties for loot and or goal oriented things like triumph and seals.
-
The idea is good, too bad it was bugged.
-
I think adding it to future dungeons on release would be fine. I don't think it should count for solo run triumphs though. And I don't think the exotic should drop from it. If they stay, they should be there to get you ready for the normal mode dungeon.
-
By far the best edition to the game since I returned last year. I wish I had time for a clan or group of people to play with but due to my wonky work schedule I've had to keep it solo - and by extension been locked out of a lot of content. This allowed me do some of that stuff at my own pace at a reasonable challenge-level. I lowkey wish that we'd get triumphs for solo runs though - despite it being on the easier end.

Edited by Mara Sovereign: 5/7/2025 10:37:15 PMIf you want to give grand props to someone, give it to people like me who've gone public on how the incestuous relationship between streamers and devs was out of hand, not to the people who actually listened to the criticism and decided maybe actually explaining how their game works might be a good thing that inspires more people to play, and play more ..

Explorer Mode is great for the health of the game. It gives players a way to learn the dungeons that isn't throwing them into the deep end and hoping they "figure it out".
-
Raids absolutely not
-
I liked it, felt like an exotic mission and I managed to solo it. Great way of learning the mechanics by yourself and no rush.
-
I dropped in solo before and to be honest I was expecting it to be a bit more chilled out. The constant spawning of enemies whilst I was trying to work things out was totally annoying, I'm not even bothered about getting loot in this mode but I was expecting being abie to wipe out any enemies and concentrate on the puzzle, but not so.
-
I throughly enjoy the option, it gives me practice to do a sf run without the heaviness and when I'm ready to give it a try, with all the mechanics down, I can.
-
FFS BUNGIE just make the old dungeons into strikes and then make old raids segmented up into strikes with the same mechanics that way people can match make them and get hands on experience for example make a strike that is either very similar or the actual first part of a raid like kings fall up to war priest and war priest can be the final boss, then do another strike that is from war priest up to phogoth and so on….that way people will get familiar with raids by doing strikes and it also adds to the limited strike pool so everyone wins

Tool Tips - eh, I must have missed those; where does one find them? 🤔 Ran Spire on Explore mode for a bit, did it before up to final boss fight, so wasn’t altogether unfamiliar…still found it to be a bit too Neomuna for an easy mode, though! A great place to level up my new toys, though! However, the first boss refuses to go into the DPS phase, ie, to expose the red lights surrounding its body, which can then be shot, to enter DPS phase. All nodes / tower batteries done…and standing in the ‘eyes’ buff point does nothing?! Tool Tips would be useful at this point - if I could spot them?! 🧐 Loot - I think it needs a bit more than ‘nothing’ to encourage this old tortoise to do more…as it still boils down to - running Dungeons with a regular bunch of mates is, and always was, the way to best get it done! Same for Raids. And don’t forget, a dungeon is a 3-man mini raid… I’m not forgetting the Solo ninjas that like to ace these activities…hardcore in deed! 😎 Anyhoo, that’s just my take…ymmv. I enjoy hunting for collectibles…and repeatable zones like Nether…but I absolutely can’t stand the nonstop Neomuna hordes grinding my gears! I just want to go explore / hunt these fabulous environments without getting zapped every time I turn around!? 🫤 K.I.S.S. - is my (would be) favourite mode! 👻 Oh, and I love the Star Wars stuff, too! And the big reveal about the way ahead - good stuff! Kudos to Sony-BHQ on that! ✅✅✅ Suggestion: introduce an optional Subscription Service at a reasonable price point for latest gen players (PS5/Xbox variant) only, to switch from laggy P2P to DSRs (dedicated regional servers)… If the price was reasonable, I would! 👈 That is all. Ease Springs! 🫡

I have yet to try it, but will hopefully on Friday definitely on Monday at latest and can't wait. I used to be a massive raider back in D1 and a bit with Leviathan but thanks to WAY to many runs with people, often from my own clan that were toxic beyond compare I quit running raids and dungeons so I'm glad I finally get a chance to get back into them. Who knows if EoF actually turns out more solid then we have seen this past year I may jump in and purchase it (but no way in hell am I pre-ordering) and may find a new clan to run with again. But as Dr. Phil loves to state the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior so trusting Bungo is well :(

This explore mode is what I wasn't expecting but I don't think I'll bother it. But for others I wish you the best experience 💪 Goodluck guardians
-
Agreed. Great idea, better late than never.
-
Yeah I'm a big fan, have wanted something like this for a long time.

Eliksni at Heart, Lover Of Eris Morn - old
I ran it to get a refresher on the dungeon Even though I have solo flawlessed the regular version before -
yeah this should be a permanent option for raids too
-
Yes I like it, it’s all win no downside. I usually don’t have a lot of time and patience to figure out the dungeon mechanics, so it’s cool to offer the option.
