I love Destiny 2, but not everyone has a raid group or the time to raid consistently.
Raid gear is some of the most iconic gear in the game.
Here's a proposal that lets players slowly earn raid gear over time by trading currency etc.
Examples:
1. Legendary Raid Gear
Cost Example:
2–3 Prime Engrams
20,000 Glimmer
Result:
Random Legendary Raid gear from a selected raid.
It would give players a reason to log in and engage with regular content.
2. Exotic Raid Weapon
Cost Example:
5 Exotic Engrams
150,000 Glimmer
Result:
Random Raid Exotic Weapon
Still encourages raiding for faster/better access, but players can grind over time.
Just a idea to allow players to earn more gear without making content obsolete.
The cost of gear would be whatever Bungie thinks is best.
I'm add this here for the people missing the point:
Some people cannot play certain activities for various reason for example a friend of mine used to raid constantly but now can only play 1 hour a day if they're able.
The idea isn't to give loot for free or specific weapon it's using resources that anyone can earn over time and obtain random gear slowly it's still RNG but takes longer to get than going directly to the activity.
The idea is specifically aiming to give more options for players no matter how they play.
I'm using raid more as a example because they have more interesting gear.

As someone who actively raids and does sherpas frequently, I'm gonna have to say this would hurt more than help IMO.

I get it. Getting into a raid can be rough. Sometimes the experience is bad. Learning can be difficult, especially when others are depending on you. But if you want to earn things from that experience, you need to do that experience. Can't be too afraid to engage in the content. Some people are -blam!-, but that's life. You're going to run into them out and about. It's far safer when your seperated by a screen.
-
I appreciate the intent you have with this idea, but I don't think it would encourage people to try raids. If anything, it would be the perfect excuse not to and it would only be a matter of time before players started demanding it be made even easier to acquire the gear.

raid gear should only come from raid, and raid gear needs to be always the best in slot weapon. They should add a easy version like rite of the nine event? yeah , ofc no exotic or redborders rewards

here to spew hate & sew discontent - old
Or you know, just actually play the raid and don’t be a -blam!- -
I think you're trying to solve something that isn't a problem. If you want raid gear, you should have to raid. Full stop. And even if they did do something like this, it should aboslutely, unequivocally never include the exotics. Ever.
-
If people want raid armor or weapons, then raid. If you want Trials armor or weapons, the run trials. If you want IB weapons and armor, then play IB. See how this works. Engage with the activity to get the reward. If that isn't the encouragement enough to obtain the item, then nothing will be.
-
No. The problem with destiny 2 is they handed out exotics like it was easter candy from day 1. You want a raid weapon or armor? Go raid. If i had to ldg for that stupid prism class item as a solo with prescribed social anxiety, then you can lfg for a raid.

Deepsight Harmonizers were already added to the game. Their main purpose was RNG insurance, but also to encourage folks to branch into new activities. Destiny already has a retention issue. We don't need more free gear. We need incentives for engaging the Loot Grind. Raids are one of the few bastions left in the game that promote quality gear & RNG protection. People not willing to engage them only do so out of fear. Whether it's social anxiety or ignorance of the activity, people are simply afraid to Raid. Get on Reddit & find a Discord Group. There's plenty of welcoming & experienced communities that will assist players in learning & clearing Raids. We don't need more free loot. We need less of it, with better Loot all around so people actually engage activities.

I’m good enough to get some raid chests without having to do the mechanics = I’m not good for remembering stuff 👍

No stupid idea :/

You won't get that to work, especially in raids. I would not mind if there was a way for non artifice armor at a minimum because that might be a little bit helpful to getting people involved and trying it out. Though there is one thing I do recommend is bad luck protection/better chance for exotic drop for players who don't have an exotic to get it instead of those who already have it. FYI, 31 runs in Warlord's Ruin to get Buried Bloodline.
