Old Armor -> New Armor Info? (Vault prep)

Greetings How will our existing armor change to be compatible with the new system? Do we just lose the three lowest stats? What should I keep/toss? Any info would be helpful in cleaning out my vault in prep. Thank you

feels like bungie doesn't want us to know how to prepare for the future. Create chaos for us to have to deal with upon release.
