Solo Player Playing With Friends
I have, for about 99.999% of this game, ran solo. And I have enjoyed the vast majority of it.
Recently, I reconnected with an old friend & started playing in a group.
The difference is night & day.
Helping each other thru different campaigns & adventures has illuminated me as to how easy/hard the game is depending on what's being played.
Campaign stuff became a cake walk. Stuff that would take me 25-30 minutes was getting busted in 10..
And the craic is unlimited. Loads of laughs when the NF wipes or we ruck each other with grenades near exploder enemies.
I'll always be that lone Hunter in my heart, but good Xol.. wiping with a team is way more fun that getting slapped as a solo.
It's almost a different game.
I'll still indulge my solo wandering but I'm more likely to call on folks for the craic & banter, not jus to get stuff done.

OP: you’ve just described the essence of the D1 experience. Everything changed after the infamous Sunset debacle…👈 Moving on… Nowadays, Discord is the way to hook-up with other likeminded Guardians. Personally, this old tortoise finds the whole Discord experience to be too overwhelming and way too ‘noisy’ and ‘busy’…😵💫 I do appreciate the great bunch of Guardians that frequent the place, though! I found the right sort of help recently to complete the final mission for Microcosm…after fruitless attempts via FTF…even though my team set up post on FTF stated very clearly ‘mic required’…not one player did or would bother to do so…hence the constant wipes and frustration. 👈👈 The other thing that was most noticeable was the flood of players that still need to get that mission, and the other 2x missions included, yet they just simply refused to use a mic, or other form of comms, to get it done!? Caveat: given my location (Far East) - languages abound, and that might well have been a contributory factor. 🤔 That is all. Ease Springs! 🫡
