Are shiny nether weapons a myth?
I’ve actually been trying to farm them lately and the drop rate is TERRIBLE. I’ve gotten a whopping THREE shiny drops in the last 2 days; collectively ~8hrs of farming.

Chess puzzle gives you 3 or 4 adepts for just completing all of the 20+ rounds.

As I said already in another post on this, I have done dozens upon dozens of both Heresy activities and have only gotten two of them. I'm lvl 272 in the season pass and have played like 400 hours this episode to give you a better idea of how much I have tried to earn them as well just good rolls of the regular adepts in general.

Idk I just did a run of court on expert and got 2 masterworked adepts( the bow and the side arm) those are the only ones I got

1 ReplyI just gave it another shot. I completed the Expert Nether run with only 1 death and received absolutely not 1 adept / shiny or a weapon with double perks from it. One of the most disappointing feelings in this game is still giving it your best and getting absolutely nothing for it in return. I'm done with both the Nether and Court of Blades until this issue is fixed. Mostly likely after Bungie drops Marathon 2....

8 RepliesBungie: We improved the drop rates of adept weapons in the Nether/Court of Oryx. Reality: We made the drop rates worse so that you play longer trying to get them and we get improved play time numbers on our charts to make ourselves look relevent while we push out an extraction shooter no one asked for using money from the only game that is making us money.

Drop rates aren’t great. Adepts also supposedly got more common but for me at least they seem even more rare.

Lots of ppl say shiny but i only got (a lot) of half- shiny ones. So: are you talking about those or are there fully shiny ones too? Cause i get a lot of half shiny ones and cannot complain. Except for the machine gun, that one only dropped once on me.

They're supposed to be rare and not the ultimate goal for your average player. Thats like playing poe and complaining that you don't get mirrors.

It's actually a little known fact that the drop rates shrink and expand in a direct inverse correlation to how much you play. Play a lot, drop rates fall. Play very little...you get the best RNG. Look it up...many live service video games do this.

The nether is the same garbage many times over & no one plays it, the rate drop got set on low so people actually do the activity. I played it for weeks & only got 3 of them to dropped with 🌈 roles.

I’ve gotten them semi-frequently from expert Nether. Even got myself an adept shiny mg :) Normal mode they’re definitely rare. Have only gotten 1 drop from Court of Blades tho. Seems like the drop rate there is way worse - or that just might be a function of less loot in general from CoB

1 ReplyTo be fair they buffed the drop rate . Got a week or 2 I was getting them . I’m pretty sure the buff has been reversed at some point as they are as rare as before the buff again . Kind of disappointing g really

Yes, shinies are supposed to be rare. If you aren't using the tome of want to get shinies, you're throwing. I would argue if you want a specific nether weapon, court of blade might be a better farm because it progresses the tome of want super fast. And you can get shiny/adept/shiny adept court weapons too. I say this as someone who had the tome of want on adamantite ever since the start of the season, I only got the roll I wanted on the second week of act 3 (max range slice + reciprocity). The shiny system is fine currently. You get triple perks.
