That's the role I went with on arc titan. I use the point cannon exotic so it feeds into each other, gain ton of bolt charge while restoring melee energy then unleashing tons of lightning strikes

Edited by ben: 4/26/2025 12:37:16 PMI think the cool thing about area denial GLs is that the damage itself isnt stellar but they all add some utility that is hugely valuable in some other way. Velocity baton is broken with attrition orbs. Orbs are vital to endgame builds for armor charges that translate to some other benefit, damage resist stacking with woven mail/frost armor, feast of light for burst damage scenarios, and any combination of these three including all of them at once. With velocity baton and bonus points for a void siphon with it, you are generating them endlessly, and almost always are utilizing the max benefit of these things. It is pound for pound one of the best weapons in the game. And lost signal is overall pretty mid aside from being the only area denial GL with auto loading holster, but it is again invaluable for buildcrafting because it is stasis, and area denial gls are the fastest transcendance building weapons in the game. Shoot two shots at a group of enemies, dont even have to kill them, your dark bar is full. Use it with a energy/heavy weapon with rolling storm, destabilizing rounds, or incandescant, which charge your light super quick due to splash damage, and you have transcendance basically on demand. Again incredibly good. I know psychopomp is good but havent really given it a try, Velocity baton just doesnt leave my energy slot if I have space for it. I do think rocket sidearms are somewhat better this season just because of champion stunning capabilities, but its case by case. As someone who always has Velocity Baton, Lost Signal, Aberrant action, and Tinashas on my character, what I pick just depends on what I need in the other slot based on what im doing. Putting area denial gls and rocket sidearms in a hierarchy is just impossible. They are both insane

Buried Bloodline is S tier, same goes for Indebted Kindness. Rocket sidearms in general

G roll rake angle is really good. Area denial frames are in general really nice, but I think baton is better than pomp just for attrition orbs

Try getting Vs Velocity with destab rounds or attrition orbs. You either can get like 3-6 orbs per a shot or basically infinite volatile explosions.
