I guess this shift signals the end for the Bungie forums? If so, that's quite depressing. It's madness in there btw.

As an older person who had her first forum experience on the Nsider forums (Nintendo) back when Pokemon was on the GBA, this does kinda feel like that (I actually had that same thought). Those forums shut down around the time the next generation of consoles rolled out. It's not a great sign that Bungie spent all that time redoing their logo, navigation, adding that Marathon area, but then didn't add a single sub-forum or category. It's completely possible they didn't do it because of some other reason (ex: maybe the Destiny 2 requirement couldn't be rolled-back in time) but who knows.

Oh my, has the Discord caused discord?

There was a Discord forum style feedback section which was pretty interesting, but it got shut off due to Discord’s cap on active posts. Now it seems to be endless scroll chat that makes my head spin. I’ve only recently joined Discord, but I guess it’s best suited to much smaller groups.

Have not been in touch with the Bungie way in a long time. Came back to see any Marathon chatter, looks like a cold fish reception. Hope their fan's wallets are ready.

They found out it was cheaper to host a community on Discord. Cut costs, maximize profits, Pork the customer.

Fine by me. As long as it means less Marathon posts down here. I can't say it's all that surprising, though. Most places use Discord instead of a proper forum now.
