Your thoughts on Marathon?
So I'm curious about everybody's thoughts on Marathon.
Mine after watching the gameplay and seeing the graphics. I'm not impressed at all. To me, the graphics are like an over colored bad cartoon. From the things I'm hearing about the game, it doesn't sound remotely fun.
I think (if they really wanted a cool extraction game) they should have made this extraction game part of the destiny world where the stuff you get you can transfer over to destiny.

I'm not crazy about it, I am willing to give the game a fair shot though.

They already said some of the graphics are not rendering properly and it will be fixed at launch. Too bad the gameplay looks dreadfully slow and boring.

I've watched six live streams of alpha gameplay so far. The overall feedback from the content creators isn't encouraging. One stream featuring three high-profile destiny pvp guys was less than complimentary. One stated he didn't think he would sink many hours into Marathon, while the other two seemed indifferent. Only one streamer liked Marathon but stated the game definitely isn't for everyone. Bungie has a problem!

1 ReplyI’m looking forward to trying it out. PvP on large maps with exploration and some PvE elements sounds great to me. I like the art style they’re aiming for, but I think it needs more polish. Keep in mind we haven’t seen the finished game yet.

3 RepliesI liked what I have seen so far, but I need an Alpha invite to fully evaluate the game. As for the characters, some of them look poor, especially the design of Glitch, which looks terrible.

Didn’t look interesting when revealed and sentiment as of now seems consensus is that the game is boring. Should have gave Marathon and true reboot, would have been better received.

The characters look weird. The art style looks like the minecraft plastic texture pack, but awful, and it looks boring compared to other extraction shooters I've seen

How do you think that would go over, people with gear from 'Marathon' running around (particularly in PvP) while others who don't play it go without? I'm betting "Not well."
