Accounts Linked with the Wrong Name

I have linked Xbox and Playstation accounts that have had their names changed in the years since I linked them. Is there a way to update my account to show these new names? Is the linking just broken forever for me?

Bungie removed the option to unlink accounts on March 25th. Your setup is permanent.

Are they still the same accounts? With a different name? Or are they different accounts entirely?
