Drifting.
I drifted through space. Hungry, needing to feed.
For a time, I feasted upon the cosmic energy of the universe.
Thus I grew.
When I came to Titan, I feasted upon the darkness within the moon.
I continued to grow in size, in power. But so did my hunger.
I feasted upon the fear of weaker beings. I feasted on the darkness what still remained in my former host. I feasted on great beasts not seen for millennia, feasted on all that caught my gaze.
My body has stretched far past what I thought was once possible. I have grown great claws like hooks. My eyes see all, my breath a poisonous fume. My tail, sharp and quick. My body undulates with power.
And yet, I have not reached my full potential. Thus I shall lie in wait, and grow. No Guardian, no Gardener, will be able to stop me.
I am Azorx.
I am The god of Hunger.
I, am The Worm, of the once Taken King.
And your universe, will be my great feast.

We once thought that Oryx, at least, was the first... that he placed the crown upon his own head, that the power to take and the legions of Taken came from his design. He didn't even want it. If the lore and his memories are to be trusted. He did NOT create the power to take. It was given to him. By who? Not the Winnower. Even if Oryx has been the Knife in other loops. In those loops he betrays the force that granted him the mantle of King. In the lore you cite (I couldn't find it, but seems legit), Azorx becomes the leader of the Hive Pantheon. Is that who leads the Taken now? We'll see 😇👍💠.
