What I think the Chess 'puzzle' represents....

Nine... Sixty. 960 The Endless Night and the Flower Game. 960 instances, potential permutations, of our existence. 960 versions of Cayde. 960 versions of us. Chess960 Is a variant created to solve the dilemma of Chess. The dilemma of Chess, as Bobby Fischer critiqued, is the game is solved. Improvisation beyond the meta, is an indicator for Human error. Thus, Chess is more about who loses rather than who wins.... IF the variables remain static, you can make the right move OR the wrong move. And victory is mostly governed via memorization and pattern recognition. Now, arguably the only thing that changes with the 960, is the scale of that illusion, as the back line randomization can only have 960 permutations mirrored on both sides. Though for the purposes of Human competition, it would create a much more honest game with each starting position representative of the scale of options for the traditional configuration. Chosen at the start of each instance or game. That's the idea of it. As it relates to "The Endless Night" - our existence is a looping simulation, there's different Saints as we learned in Echoes. There's different Caydes as he indicates in his own words, "I hope I get it right this time". In the lore, Elsie's experiences with Ana becoming corrupted in a dark future. Nine... Sixty. Theory. 😇👍💠

I had written a decent response, I feel, but one swipe and oops, all gone. From Westworld, how many lines of code sum up the human consciousness? So you have a base consciousness, this every nothing (evidently I haven't been keeping up too much), or... The Last Answer by Isaac Asimov. This eternal voice, this electric state of the universe. It wants an end, but it is eternal. We could design it's end, if we defined it's very nature within our existence, but honestly it's eternal and ran multiple variations. Doesn't matter it's always reborn, the cycle remains constant. But we can imagine new takes on reality after its initial destruction, or locking the base pattern for reality in. I am an entity who's sole purpose in life is destruction of itself. We are solving this dilemma of our immortality, like Odin seeing his death and trying to circumvent it, we designed this death and watch as pieces fall into place....because it saves...everyone, not just humans.
