Episode heresy was another disappointing season

Episode heresy was another dissapointment Just like Revenant or even season of the witch, this episode had a decent/average to above average beginning and middle and a very disappointing end. A quick summary: eris got killed and goes to her throne world, oryx is revealed and spends 2 acts doing nothing but roasting his sisters, savathun tells us not to butt in her family matters (she’s kind of a -blam!- about it) and expects us to go along with it despite knowing us very well and knowing us humans wouldn’t leave a threat like this be, savathun tells him that the sword logic is a lie and oryx says he wants to go to fundament, after very little resistance oryx gets captured, xivu tries to break him out but fails and then Savathun (one of the smartest beings in the entire destiny universe and someone who knows us, the gaurdians, and everyone else in the coalition very well) attempts to do the EXACT SAME -blam!- THING and FAILS THE SAME WAY. Mind you theyre putting the full force of their brood into these missions and it’s not even a challenge for our gaurdian. After that oryx escapes, seemingly trying to leave for fundament, but then he changes his mind and then (after very weak resistance from savathun and xivu arath. Seriously, why did they not come in person to defend their brother? Is it because we can beat ALL 3 HIVE GODS at the same time? Is that’s true then that’s just depressing and boring seeing as how nothing in the universe can pose a threat to us anymore and any battle we partake in is hollow) and then oryx just commits suicide via our gaurdian! This is extremely out of character for him. I know, I know, they put in a few lines of dialogue to make it seem okay, but no that’s not enough. You can’t just have oryx say one thing and then turn around and give up on everything. He’s supposed to be the navigator. He’s supposed to be the one who leads the hive to a better future for them. He’s already been told his logic is a lie and vowed to discover the truth, because he’s a character that hungers to understand everything. This action, and also Savathun’s incompetence, is so out of character that I believe oryx’s death is a deception made by savathun so we can stop pursuing him. That’s my headcanon at least because if he’s truly dead then that’s such a boring and disappointing ending to this season. It essentially means he was brought back for fan service. That this whole episode was just hive/The Taken King fanservice. He came back to life, accomplished exactly nothing, and then was killed off with his sisters failing to save him. Xivu arath aura farming for one cutscene only to lose again. If she herself showed up to the final battle then surely she could’ve made a difference. She didn’t even show up afterwards to take revenge on us. Destiny has a ginormous problem with how they handle the deaths of major villains with the exception of the witness. Calus being killed by our gaurdian instead of caital dealing the final blow after exchanging words. Nezarec being killed and then completely forgotten about for well over a year and when he FINALLY come back, he gets blasted away without doing anything. Fikrul getting -blam!- by a mcguffin and then just turning into a puddle. No emotion in his death. Even quiria dying at the end of splicer. None of these deaths are satisfying ends to these characters. This episode wouldve been much much better if oryx survived. Imagine if savathun just convinced him not to kill himself. If all 3 sisters took a trip to fundament and reminisced about their place in the universe. That would be 10x better than the ending we got. Also hate how they edge Xivu arath sooo much. Just let her be onscreen. I get that she’s an expansion level villian but with the amount of losing she’s been doing nonstop she won’t be anything by the time we get to her. As things stand it’s only a matter of time before the coalition exterminates the hive for good, because there’s no real way they can beat us now.

"Atleast the stars will remember..." - old

Heresy was incredible because voiced integral parts of lore from books of sorrow into new perspectives and let us delve into the mind of Oryx and understand what made him tick. As for important villains, Fikrul was never even remotely close to a well written character. Be glad that clown even got a few more seconds of screen time. So glad he's gone because he took forever to articulate. As for Oryx surviving and going to a beach party on Fundament to reminisce...that's soooo childish lol Oryx/The Navigator was an irredeemable monster but I respected that he ended his reign with dignity after thinking everything over. There's no way Xivu is getting a happy ending either because Caiatl killing her is written in the stars at this point lol
