Why does it feel like Duality (The Exotic Shotgun) is living in Chaperone’s shadow

Like, I understand that Chaperone is Notorious, but Duality is more consistent, requiring you to not have to be so precise in close range, and being able to handle threats that require precision more consistently, albeit at a slightly shorter range. I’ve played around with both in PVE and PVP, and Duality has been far more consistent in both, while Chaperone barely keeps up in PVP, and can’t even excel in most PVE situations, due to there being more consistent options with better perks. I genuinely want to understand, and I’m not trying to sound like I’m attacking anyone who likes the Chaperone. It’s a fun weapon to use from time to time, but it feels a bit too undercooked and overhyped. While duality feels pretty good, yet I hardly see anyone talk about it. I’d appreciate any insight that anyone can provide.

  • Because it was a season pass weapon. All season pass weapons are okay, but not great and I'm fairly certain bungie does this intentionally. Witherhoard is probably the only good one, which is why it's the only exotic to not receive buffs later in it's life.
