I think most of us can agree that Destiny 2 has always had issues.
Whether that be PvP sandbox, server stability, drip-fed content, you name it.
But I believe the greatest issue Bungie has faced and truly never overcome is player retention.
D2 will receive massive content drops over the years and players will drop once they’ve made it through everything new in the game.
While this issue is broadly speaking, it’s also multi-faceted. Why are people not staying around? Is it because the content isn’t as engaging as it used to be? Is it not rewarding enough? Are other games more respectful of players time and investment?
Or is it simply burnout? Tired of the same old same old?
Whatever the case, if Bungie doesn’t find a way to keep players engaged and staying longer than a few weeks to a month, the issue will continue to fester.
And a Destiny 3 won’t change any of that.
