Remove Champions Entirely / Give Us the Option to Add or Remove Champions for the Endgame Nightfalls or Activities

This is coming from someone with 4000 hours of gameplay with all the DLCs. Champions ruin the whole idea of buildcrafting in Destiny and the point of looting and farming. We grind to get all the exotic armors, weapons, godrolls, and unlock our subclasses—across multiple characters—just so we can try out different builds in higher-level content. But Champions ruin the entire purpose of playing Destiny 2. After putting all that time into collecting exotics and abilities, and making tons of unique builds with specific perks and interactions or synergies, they become useless when facing Champions, especially Barrier and Overload, such as in Master and Grandmaster activities. They’re literally unkillable without using specific exotics or the artifact weapons of the season. I don’t want to use the builds I’ve worked 100s of hours to obtain and make just to kill mobs in the Cosmodrome or even in dungeons or raids. I want to test them in harder content with tougher opponents, without being forced to run anti-Champion exotics or seasonal artifact mods. Champions basically erase all the time I’ve spent, and instead force me to pick from the 1-2 builds Esoterickk uses to beat Nightfalls, which is boring and pointless. I want to use my weapons, my gear, my combos—not just whatever the season or the meta says I have to or else. Let me use my loot!!!

  • Champions were one of the laziest additions to Destiny. When you boil it down to what it is, champions, no matter what kind, are just bullet sponges. They aren't interactive. There's no "solve the challenge." It's just "shoot them with this gun instead of this one" and that's about the least interesting way of creating difficulty. But it's bungie. Drawing things out by adding meaningless speed bumps and tedium is their favourite hobby.

  • Lol more champions but random with unknown spawns. What the hec just make tormentors have added extras ummm like overload, unstoppable and barrier, bring back the mini screbes for extra fun.

    • Been asking for this for years. Literally since 2019 when they were introduced. Hell, make Champs and this whole minus power bs be a toggle. If people actually like it, then they can have it in. If they don't, then they don't have to deal with the bs of enemies that heal (unstoppables are fine in my opinion because they don't heal) and limiting loadouts to be anti-champ rotation thanks to the artifact. Honestly, the fact these things aren't a toggle is part of the issue on the player count getting so low.

    • Champions made destiny 2 tedious af to play and that hasnt changed for all the bandaid fixes now in place to make them easier. Everytime I see one I just sigh

    • I actually enjoy champions in GMs - they add a nice challenge, and there are more ways to tackle them than ever.

        • Champions really aren't all that difficult to deal with. You can still use your preferred setup. This is nonsense.
