Request - restoration of name/name change token removal (caused by Bungie bug from August 2024)
I was previously impacted by the name change filter bug noted by Bungie, which changed my name from leetabix to Guardian6230 (see https://x.com/Destiny2Team/status/1823519880374833618 for the initial issue post, and https://x.com/Destiny2Team/status/1823863324746113061 for an update where Bungie notes that a fix has been implemented but still requires further work to fix accounts already impacted by the issue (this includes my account, which has been impacted by the bug for nearly a year).
I noticed that until recently there was a name change token on my account, however I was unable to adjust my name back to leetabix (trying to save the name change didn't work i.e. no error codes display and returning to the page always showed that the name change hadn't taken effect, and the page still noted that a name change was available).
Today I logged in to check/try again, and noticed that my profile is now showing no name changes are available. I can confirm that I didn't use the name change token as I was unable to change it from the Bungie-assigned name of Guardian6230.
Please can my name either be adjusted back to my original name of leetabix, or the name change token restored. My preference would be for the former, as my intent is for me to return to the account name I had prior to Bungie's bug incorrectly causing my name to change.

While your name change may have occurred during the time of the issue mentioned, it sounds like your name was moderated, which would explain why you've been consistently unable to change back to it. When a name is moderated, it becomes unavailable for future use, regardless of you having name changes available or not. This sounds like what's going on in this case. If your name was indeed changed for you, this means it was in violation of the [url=https://www.bungie.net/7/en/Legal/CodeOfConduct]Code of Conduct[/url], and Bungie does not provide details as to why specific names are actioned. With respect to the sudden loss of remaining name changes, this is an ongoing issue affecting some players, which the team is aware of and already looking into. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this. Regarding custom name changes, Bungie does not process these; players are meant to use the name changes available to them to change their names. Once the issue with name changes is resolved, we recommend changing your name to one which was not previously actioned; this should allow you to change from your current Guardian name, assuming you did indeed have remaining name changes. Otherwise, you will unfortunately retain the name you currently have.
