So, I took a trip to Shattered Throne...
Decided to solo the Dungeon since the game apparently didn't count my solo during shadowkeep. Get past the first encounter and during the traverse phase, Riven spoke to me and said...
"Instead of fighting the taken, why not become the taken" (in Zavala's voice)
It was odd because I've never heard that dialog after the many times I've ran that Dungeon only until this past reset.

The ability to Take several low tier Minor mobs on the battlefield, couple Elites and maybe.. as a Super?, the ability to Take Champions or Conjuring Mini-boss of your choice? Ability to Take a goblin to give me an immune shield or Cabal Phalanx to Boop sh*t off the map, Taken Wizards... The results are endless and the utility could be wild and pretty useful in stuff like GM's or Dungeons... Idk about Raids or PvP though. Sounds fun but thats imo, I'm sure others would differ.

1 ReplyI do think we will get Taken powers in some form that exists outside of the Episode. We’ve leant far too much into the notion of controlling this power for it not to be the case but I’m not convinced it will come in the shape of a subclass.

Would be cool as heck. Idk how it would work gameplay wise but thematically it would be unbelievably cool. Other options include nightmare/resonance/deepsight class. Or whatever this orange arc like energy was in vespers host. I’m also wondering if there will ever be a darkness equivalent of kinetic 🤔

That’d be cool. I think it’s gonna be a red/orange subclass that’s opposite of Arc if we’re going based on the old inverses theory. Like the taken could be the impetus for it, but I don’t think it’s gonna be strictly taken-y powers.

The dialog was probably written to coordinate with the Taken armor set that was available years ago. AFAIK you can still also display a Taken armor appearance in the Dreaming City after consuming a Tincture of Queensfoil.
