Win or lose, the games either feel very fun / balanced or very oppressive / one sided. Its wildly inconsistent. This is both in Supremacy and Control.
Win or lose, the games either feel very fun / balanced or very oppressive / one sided. Its wildly inconsistent.
I agree with this > thats my experience and I basically live in Control. I have seen A LOT. So I inspect trying to understand what is going on.. why is my random team being rolled in a SBMM/Outlier protection mode... being farmed like shanks/thralls in PVE? This is my conclusion: there are certain players that do not care about a fair PVP match (even when there is very little reward > Control) and are actively trying to cheese.. meaning whether its CRACKED/UNBALANCED 1. Weapon, 2. Ability, 3. Stacking vs less stack/solos, 4. Cheating. Bungie can control these factors but I think they chose a curated experience >> you are paraded through [gooder] lobbies and then paraded through known [unbalanced as F] lobbies. You have a bit of wiggle room on that experience through your skill but it is known that you have limited time to cycle through good. They know your patience through bad lobbies is limited but they cant give everyone good lobbies... because they are trying to curate a win for some people who would give up otherwise. Just focusing on weapons >> Most recently(past 2 days) my control lobbies that are bad have either a player using Redrix/Rose or some Exotic kill chaining weapon (just 1 or 2 in the lobby).. or a Stack doing this... and it ends up snowballing the match... For reference I have all these weapons but I choose not to use them, especially in Control, because they give an unfair advantage to the avg Control player and if I win its not me its the cracked thing I'm using. I don't understand the people that do this.. and that cheat.. what are you gaining from that? I just don't get it. How is it enjoyable? If Bungie brought in these outliers they are fearful that players would not play/chase these weapons... so over time you have a very active toxic PVP community... who doesn't act like its a sport but like its just a PVE obstacle to overcome.. to cheese... and a lot of players think its a silly side-activity to their nerding out in end-game PVE. This is why I think you gotta find your own mini-game within the PVP game to survive that.. and maybe slightly hopefully something will change.. Balance can't be achieved when you have stacks vs solos, outlier weapons and abilities and a playerbase (even a few bad apples is enough) that will actively pursue an advantage that a developer just doesn't get or chooses to handle with the curated experience. Anyway thats how I feel about it. (geez that was long...lol)
