I have a cross save account with PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam all connected. I was primarily PlayStation way back when I set up cross-save, but I’ve been PC-only for years now. However, when I sign into Destiny-related services using my Steam ID, they seem to treat my PlayStation ID as the primary.
Example: I just signed into Braytech and chose my Steam ID as the authentication method. That part works fine, and Braytech displays a badge with all three of my platforms and tells me to pick one so I can choose a character to analyze. If I click Steam, it gives me an error saying it couldn’t find any characters. If I click PlayStation, it finds my guardians just fine.
For a while I haven’t cared about this, but I’m considering deleting my PlayStation account entirely. Could this mess up my cross save? Is there a way, and should I change my ‘primary’ platform associated with my Destiny/Bungie account?
Thanks for any help.
However, when I sign into Destiny-related services using my Steam ID, they seem to treat my PlayStation ID as the primary.
Because it is, when you setup cross-save you picked your PSN to be your active profile Your characters, gear etc are permanently bound to that PSN account and your Steam/Xbox accounts are simply accessing it. If you delete the PSN then you'll never be able to deactivate cross-save in the future.

Your characters are permanently bound to PlayStation. Making steam your primary account would just set your steam characters (which you don’t have any so it would be like starting over again) as primary.
