Aye, its quite silly indeed. Objectively good guitar players exist and we've recognised that fact for many a decades, topping a century even. If objectively good guitar playing can be recognised as such, even tho its within the art form known as music, how is such a concept suddenly not applicable to writing? "Sorry man, I dont think that Stephen guy is good at writing. After all, we have no way to measure it and it all really just boils down to personal taste. Unlike in music. For whatever reason. No can do." There is bad music I like and good shows and movies I dont like. That doesnt mean I just throw out the idea of being able to objectively measure quality in favour of my own personal taste. Or maybe im just the crazy one for being able and willing to give credit where its due, even if whatever it is isnt to my taste.
