Golden Oldies are a clan and community of older gamers, 40yrs old being the minimum requirement, any upper age permitted, leadership is UK based, but will recruit globally .. Don't mistake us .. We are damn good gamers, just a little slower than we used to be .. But just as feisty ... If reading this leaves you thinking or feeling the same, then perhaps you might like to join ... We are now an open server to anyone 40+ ... Clan membership is NOT mandatory, you will be treated the same as a clan member, and the server rules will apply to everyone Strictly 40+ only, NO exceptions .. Please don't ask for an exception because you are 40 next month !!! The answer is "sorry, ask again next month" .. No, your son cannot join because you are a member, unless they are 40 .. Anyone joining who is discovered to be younger than 40, will be removed .... Sadly, even for us older generation, rules are required, I prefer to call them "guidelines" .. Rules here are simple common courtesy, treat everyone as you would expect to be treated. Avoid topics of race, religion and gender, saying that, we are all older generation and remember things when they were different, remember, text doesn't show intent or context. A joke to you may appear and be received as something else entirely by others. Saying that, if something offends you, DO NOT KICK OFF !!! DM myself or an admin .. We are a clan, make the clan your first option when looking for a team or help, if you don't, then why the hell are you here ... Activeness, this is virtual reality, not real life, real life comes first, you won't be chased for being afk as such, but please, if its for an extended period, let us know, if a month goes by with nothing from you, I am likely to remove you, thats not a threat, its a fact, others may well be waiting to join us. My final comment, and its a biggy, my pet hate .. ELITISM WILL NOT BE TOLERATED !!! ... Playing with friends regularly is fine, but if I see it as an exclusive clique in any way, or I hear of private channels being created, my hammer will most definitely fall, after all, why be in a clan if you don't mix it up a bit ... Ok, I lied, my final comment .. Welcome, enjoy your stay, make friends, help each other, many will have experienced being ignored or ostracised by the youngsters, lets make this a home from home ..
