Destiny 2

Discuss all things Destiny 2.

Teach players how to play PVP.

Show them what perks work in PVP and what does not. Teach them pairing a hand cannon and auto rifle might not be the best idea. Teach them pairing a pulse and a scout might not be a good idea.

Crucible is a side mode not the focus for destiny....PVP supports destiny it's not the main gameplay loop... Trials and banner are a side event in a side mode.. destiny will never be an e sport...tis just a game have fun

There are PLENTY of YouTube vids from flawless champs that give you pretty damn good advice on what to use as far as weapon combos, gear, abilities, tactics, etc. A good way to practice is using the trials passage and practice getting win streaks. And try to get a team together. For regular PvP, try different things. I don't like using PvE weapons in PvP. My idea of PVE weapon might be different from yours. So my style of PvP isn't the same as the next person. But, there is no real way to teach PvP.

  • Your opinion.. it depends on the build and their play style. Some would say pairing Fighting Lion and a mid range Pulse isn't a good idea. But go watch YouTube.

  • The problem is most of these players refuse to listen regardless because "I want to play how I want to play" There are multiple guides and literal word docs on this subject and you still have people do whatever they want but still complain they get outgunned

    • 1. Take cover when under fire 2. Indicate contact to teammates 3. Point and shot enemies in range 4. Move to new cover and repeat. Done. School is over

    • This has been a good idea for a VERY long time. It’s been brought to Bungie’s attention MANY times. Once you consider that Shaw Shawn is the New Light experience, you realize what they think of this idea…

        • Or people can just use whatever they want, and everyone else can quit taking the game so seriously. If you don't like teammates using certain things, then just go make your own team with people using what you want.

          • If you look at the loadouts of half of the players in matchmaking for pve, the also are not setup well. Often using exotics on the wrong element sub, or weapons which don't work with their build. A lot of players just put random gear on, and send it without looking any further into it. Whenever I play activities with friends, I take a quick look at their builds/mods and point out places that could be improved. One friend still thinks kinetic mods cover all top slot weapons, so when he uses a stasis pulse, I remind him that is stasis. When I spend time on a build, I sort armor for it on DIM loadout optimizer, and save it. If I'm playing pvp for a while, I pull a variety of weapons with the same element to have options without changing mods. I also have a loadout with the same armor and different element mods in case I need to change weapons to a different element without not swap kicking in. Some players don't put effort into pvp, and play with bad loadouts, then wonder why the aren't doing well. Then pull out the toaster because they think that trading is better than losing. More often than not, it's not the weapon choice which is causing them to lose, it's game sense and loadout synergy. Good players have put in the time, use pvp focused mods (weapon targeting, handling/reload, unflinching, etc). This are difference makers when dueling against someone not using them.

              FREELANCE or bust - 3/11/2025 1:57:13 AM

Overall, some people just don't have a feel for it or an interest. You need to be willing to go into some iterations of regular PVP to learn it... even basic explanations won't help that crew. Essentialy, what you're saying is man if that non-PVP player simply went into PVP and used a different perk they would do better and thats in most cases not the difference maker. They have to be willing to 1st admit they dont know and take time to learn... and in that you're right that Bungie has nothing for that learning curve in PVP... its just straight in and be devoured. I managed to learn it by thinking it through... "well these ____ can do it.. its doable....and how do I set a baseline to grow from" Btw I do pair a 360 auto with a 180 hc for a challenge (or 120HC with a 720 auto) but yes thats def not recommended, lol

              • The game cannot hand hold people through everything. If you don't know that not equipping a HC and Auto at the same time is detrimental, me telling you to put on a shotgun or fusion probably isn't going to end any better. The types of players that don't have this knowledge are also the types of players that I could curate the most meta loadout possible and they're still going to under perform.

They could stop adding all the cool rewards to the PvP pool - that would solve the issue with people with no interest in PvP going in there just for rewards. Then again, when those people arent there you'll complain about it being too hard - because the people left are actually good at PvP. It's a lose lose situation.

              • It doesn’t take rocket science to play pvp in destiny . I’ve played for a nearly a year same load and no attention to mods and I do alright ….I’m super average but can hold my own . Destiny PvP c is the easiest to pick up and play . High aim assist and times of cheese to use . We don’t have much longer of d2 PvP anyways .

Ok, I will teach them to pair a Pulse Rifle with a Fusion Rifle, and to emote after they delete a sliding shotgun crutcher The only right way to play PvP
