Assistance with Recent Multiple Account Restrictions After Private Matches

Hello all, I’m reaching out to seek assistance and clarification regarding recent restrictions placed on my Bungie account (Mugs#5881) due to "network stability issues." I’ve been an active Destiny player since 2016 and primarily play on PlayStation, currently on a PS5. I also occasionally play on a gaming laptop I purchased in 2022 for work-related travel. I love this game and use it to spend time with my friends who live in different states. I’m concerned about these restrictions, as I’m unsure why they are happening or how to prevent them in the future. I’d appreciate any guidance or understanding you can provide. This is now the second time I’ve received a two-week restriction on my account, both times citing "network stability issues". My first restriction was back on 1/2/25 while this newest one was yesterday 3/7/25. Previous to these two restrictions I had had no issues on my account from 2016 - 2025. What’s odd here is that both restrictions have coincided with identical restrictions placed on my friend’s account (Stu#6139) at the exact same time. In both instances, the restrictions followed extended periods of playing private PvP matches together. These private match sessions are a core part of our Destiny 2 play time (along with dungeons, random PvE, and the occasional matchmade Crucible games) - we often experiment with new weapons, set custom rules and generally have more fun in private matches than in matchmade Crucible. I’m unsure if this activity is somehow triggering the restrictions, and I’d appreciate any insight into whether this could be the case. To provide as much context as possible, here are the details of my network setup: ISP: Verizon Fios - 1 Gigabit plan (quoted speeds of 940 Mbps download / 880 Mbps upload). I do not use a VPN. Connection Type: Wired Cat 6A Ethernet connection from my Router to my PS5 (no Wi-Fi) PS5 Speed Test Results: -NAT Type: 2 -Download Speed: 915.7 Mbps -Upload Speed: 176.6 Mbps Admittedly, I’m not a networking expert, so I’m unsure what additional information might be helpful for troubleshooting. After my first restriction, I actually switched ISPs to Verizon Fios, as I thought my previous provider’s slower upload speeds might have been the cause (plus it saved me $30/month). I’ve also read that having a more open NAT type might help, but I’m unsure how to achieve this or if it’s even relevant to my issue. I’m completely open to any network suggestions or configurations that could help prevent these issues moving forward, as I really feel lost and unsure of what else to try. The most puzzling aspect of this situation is the timing of the restrictions, which always seem to follow extended private match sessions with my buddy, Stu#6139. We both receive the same two-week restrictions at the exact same time, which makes me wonder if there’s something about private matches that is being flagged as a "network stability issue". I’d like to understand: 1. Why these restrictions are happening, especially in relation to private matches. 2. Whether there are specific network configurations or settings I should adjust to avoid these issues in the future. 3. If any other players out there have experienced a similar issue. Thank you for taking time to read my above novel and for any suggestions you may have!

  • Curious as to why your tested upload is do much lower than the quoted upload. Is that your ISP throttling it, or ps5 throttle, or a connection issue to correct?

If it's truly the second time, that means it's for 2 months.
