Pinnacle bad luck protection?
All i need to be max pinnacle power is a class item. All pinnacle rewrds keep dropping in slots that are already max level. I thought Bungie said that there are some protection system at play in Destiny, have I misunderstood?

It keeps the players grinding hard for a few more weeks than anticipated. Bungie calls this “content” because they know it bothers the majority of the player base to be “one” away from the max light level.

I can’t recall who suggested it so I can’t give credit (apologies) but they had the idea that 1 of the pinnacle activities could allow you to select your reward. So when you’re hoping for that final pinnacle drop you can select it. The thing with this is that Bungie (and a fair few players) don’t realise that without any form of ‘protection’ at all, it ultimately diminishes playtime - so it is ridiculously counterproductive to STILL not have something in place.

1 ReplyIf I have to wait until act 3 to unlock the class item from the season pass, I will. But my class item not dropping after 20+pinnacles and 10+ powerful engrams is absurd.

2 RepliesTry running Excision and the seasonal activity on Expert. Those pinnacles seem to drop where they are “needed.”

2 RepliesNo pinnacle protection from what I have heard... Its always a problem, and class items often are the more difficult ones to get. Some pinnacle rewards are only weapons, or have a higher chance at them. Some dont have class items available (like the Sundered Doctrine dungeon). My buddy has been needing just the class item now for 3 weeks. It was also my last armor piece that I needed. If only Dual Destiny was a pinnacle option, so at least you could have a guaranteed source for a pinnacle class item.

There's no protection plus it's rigged to keep you playing.

10 RepliesThey're padding play time as "content" with pinnacle being the least amount of effort needed for that so don't expect any bad luck protection soon They should remove pinnacle grind completely, RNG based progression is never a good thing

Just keep running pinnacles on all 3 characters and it will drop. RNG can be a bear at times but it will eventually drop. It took me 60 plus drops to get a helmet to drop last time and this time all 3 of my characters were done in two and half weeks.

They could add such protection as a reward in the season pass. Like they do with exotic catalyst.
