Expansion Idea – The Return of SIVA & A Rogue Warmind
Overview:
With the Witness defeated, a new threat emerges—one born not of Darkness, but of technology. As humanity rebuilds, an unknown Warmind awakens, seizing control of SIVA and reshaping it for its own design. Unlike Rasputin, this rogue Warmind sees logic as the only path forward, deeming humanity obsolete.
A mysterious Warsat crashes near the Last City, sending a fragmented distress signal. The Vanguard assumes it's Rasputin—only to uncover a message from the Warmind they thought was destroyed. This kicks off a hunt for lost Warsat fragments, scattered across different planets, containing pieces of the rogue Warmind’s final transmission.
But there’s another revelation: Rasputin has returned—this time in an Exo body.
Key Expansion Elements:
1. The Rogue Warmind & New SIVA Faction
A new Warmind, separate from Rasputin, has taken control of SIVA.
It operates on pure logic—without emotion or morality—deeming organic life inefficient.
It has perfected SIVA, creating an entire SIVA-infested planet while we fought the Witness.
A new enemy race or faction wields SIVA, either as a weapon like the Splicers or as an integrated force, using it as a companion rather than a parasite.
This Warmind serves as the raid boss, but despite its “destruction,” it survives in secret—eventually learning to understand emotions over time.
2. Rasputin’s Return (Now an Exo!)
Rasputin has been rebuilt in an Exo body, allowing him to interact directly with Guardians.
His presence is smaller in this expansion, but he acts as a vendor or mission guide.
He helps us track down the rogue Warmind and reclaim lost SIVA technology.
He struggles with his new identity—adjusting from Warmind AI to Exo.
Some of his old defenses reactivate, bringing back a new version of Warmind Bunkers as activity hubs.
3. Failsafe Returns! (Still Crazy as Ever)
The hunt for lost Warsat fragments leads us back to Nessus, where Failsafe has unknowingly been storing hidden SIVA data.
Her dual personality remains intact, bringing humor and chaos into the mission.
She and Rasputin have hilarious interactions, with Failsafe trying to help Rasputin adjust to being an Exo while making fun of him.
She provides insight into why the rogue Warmind was created and what its true goal is.
4. SIVA Subclass & Guardian Connection
Some SIVA factions oppose the rogue Warmind and seek to aid the Guardians (like Mithrax & Caiatl).
Guardians can learn to wield SIVA in a new subclass, harnessing its self-repair properties to create a temporary overshield and adaptive defenses.
A new SIVA Forge system allows customization of weapons and armor infused with SIVA tech.
Final Thoughts:
This expansion would bring back SIVA, Warminds, and forgotten characters while setting up a new era of technological threats beyond the Witness. It also balances conflict and alliance, much like when the Fallen once used SIVA but now some wish to break free from its control.
Rasputin’s return as an Exo, the rogue Warmind’s survival, and the potential of a SIVA-infused subclass would make for a fresh and exciting story direction.
Would love to hear what others think—should we get more Warmind and SIVA content in Destiny’s future?

Edited by Iccotak: 3/2/2025 8:28:02 PMthe narrative thread of SIVA was followed up with Lightfall, it also paid off the foreshadowing made by our Ghost's comment all the way back to 2017 about potential contact made between SIVA and the Vex. In Lightfall, we found a city that was created using the nanotech and was made into an even more advanced version of itself, Quicksilver. This was made possible by combining siva and vex tech, which makes sense seeing as how siva was inspired by vex. I get that siva looks cool, but the story is closed - and Quicksilver is a far more powerful version of the tech anyway
