I have been unable to progress the quest to acquire the exotic. I was able to break one of the curses for the quest but then no statues are spawning after multiple runs of the Nether and also 2 of the curses lost progress and the taken relics don't allow me to pick them up or spawn in the area they are. I have tried abandoning the quests then requiring them and also tried to progress them on other characters and neither worked.
