Every subclass that isn't prismatic on Warlock and Titan have restrictive aspects when it comes to fragment slots

There aren't any 3 fragment slot aspects on Warlock on all of the base subclasses and Titans only have 1, which is Diamond Lance on Stasis. I think prismatic has shown that restricting fragment slots doesn't really change anything or make anything game breaking, especially with some of the crazy effects that prismatic fragments have to offer. What doesn't make sense is Hunters have an aspect that offers 3 fragment slots on every single subclass except strand and I think that's how it should be. In fact, I think Ensnaring Slam is so underused even after its buff that it could use to have its fragment slots increased from 2 to 3. There are so many aspects on Warlock and Titan that need what Ascension got at the start of Heresy, and here are my picks: Titan: Void: Bastion or Unbreakable fragment slots increase from 2 to 3 Notes: Unbreakable feels really good now but its nothing game changing still imo, I think 3 void fragments choices would make it perfect on void personally, but I could also see a world where Bastion gets 3 fragment slots instead since its really only super strong when paired with Offensive Bulwark in PVE. Arc: Juggernaut fragment slots increase from 2 to 3 Notes: Even after the buffs it just got, this seems pretty reasonable, no arc titans are using Juggernaut after Storm's Keep entered the game and Knockout being the best source of healing for Titans on Arc and Prismatic. Solar: Potentially a new one in the future could have 3 since the current ones are very strong, but if not, my vote would go to increase Consecration's fragment slots going from 2 to 3 since it isn't as strong on solar Strand: Flechette Storm fragments increase from 2 to 3 Notes: This is probably the worst of the slide-melee aspects, I really feel like a fragment slot buff and a damage buff would do this aspect some justice because this definitely seems the least chosen aspect out of the 4 strand titan aspects available. Plus it looks very cool to use compared to most of the other slide-melee aspects. Warlock: Solar: Hellion or Icarus Dash Note: I would completely understand if none of the solar warlock aspects ever got 3 fragment slots because they are all very strong, but Hellion doesn't have the most insane effect compared to its solar aspect counterparts and Icarus Dash is movement related. I hardly find myself using Hellion on Solar or Prismatic since it feels like there are stronger options, but that doesn't mean its bad and my personal gameplay doesn't reflect how everyone else is using it. Arc: Electrostatic Mind fragment slots increase from 2 to 3 Notes: It's used in most arc warlock builds, but it doesn't bring anything ability augmenting to the table that is strong like Arc Soul, Ionic Sentry or recently buffed Lightning Surge. Becoming amplified on trace pickup is very good now, but all this aspect really does is just give you more elemental pickups, and that's not super strong, even the Harvest Aspects on Stasis heal you a little bit when picking up Stasis Shards. Void: Chaos Accelerant fragment slots increase from 2 to 3 Notes: I literally only see people use this aspect in Contraverse Hold Builds and nothing else. The buff to handheld supernova this season was a very good step, but I don't know how much it changed things. It amazes me that at some point this incredibly underpowered aspect in comparison to its void aspect counterparts was 1 fragment slot in the past. Feed the Void is so strong, that you're not doing your void or prismatic builds any favors by having it unequipped. Stasis: Frostpulse fragment slots increase from 2 to 3 Notes: No one seems to use this aspect unless they are playing PVP or are using Ballidorse Wrathweavers, and that feels tacky at best when Voidwalker and Dawnblade are played more in PVP and one of the best pieces of the Stasis Warlock kit is in Prismatic (Bleak Watcher). Strand: Any strand aspect except Mindspun Invocation fragment slots increase from 2 to 3 Notes (Incoming Essay): After Stormcaller's much needed buff this season, I think it is safe to say that Broodweaver is now the most unused Warlock subclass. Strand Warlock has always felt incredibly underwhelming compared to the other two Strand Subclasses, and loadouts are incredibly restrictive already because if you want your threadlings to be at their best, Thread of Evolution needs to be equipped and that is already one of your maximum four fragments slots. The strongest it ever felt was when Weaver's Trance and Osteo Striga were paired together to suspend endless waves of enemies (not saying that should come back, but it would be kind of cool to have back). Ever since that interaction got nerfed, the most I've seen Strand Warlock used has been to pair it with Euphony, and that feels incredibly limited. Weavewalk also needs a re-work imo, it was cool at first because it was broken in PVP when it launched, but now its not super great. I think it needs to be de-coupled from draining your melee energy similarly to the class exotic glaives getting their main exotic perk de-coupled from glaive shield energy. Maybe it could work on a meter system similar to Wormgod Caress or Verity's Brow and the bar drains the longer you're in the weave. Idk, just spitballing ideas since this subclass fits one niche and it doesn't seem to be very good at it, it even feels like Hunters can leverage Threadlings better than Warlocks sometimes with Threaded Specter. Thoughts: I have no developer insight or game development experience, but it feels like Prismatic is just a better option than most of these other subclass options with some exceptions. It feels way more customizable and you can potentially have up to 6 fragment slots on prismatic. There is not a setup on Prismatic where you have less than 5 fragment slots and a lot of them can have 6 fragment slots, so why can't the other subclasses in some rare cases have 5 slottable fragments as well, you know? Hunters can already do it, why shouldn't the rest of the classes be able to? I also wanna be clear that when I mention multiple aspects in the same subclass could have their fragment slots increased to 3, I don't mean all of them should be. Only 1 aspect in each subclass mentioned should get the fragment slot increase because I think having the ability to slot 6 fragments in a non-prismatic build might be a bit much.

  • Honestly speaking I think the fragment cap should just be removed and just allow all subclasses for everyone to be six fragment slots.

    • This is a second part to my original post: Subclass Comparisons: Prismatic is the most used subclass still even after the buffs and nerfs this season but I just wanna mention subclasses that already feel strong, but this change would help push them towards being used more than Prismatic, as well as some that don't exactly feel great: Titan: 1) Prismatic: Most used still, Knockout + Consecration and Synthoceps/Spirit of Synthoceps is still the best form of ad-clear, single target damage and survivability even after its nerf on Titan. 2) Striker: With the introduction of Storm's Keep, this subclass is now on par with Prismatic if exotics like Insurmountable Skullfort or Point-Contact Cannon Brace are used to refresh melee energy. This subclass is now stacked with multi-purpose ad-clearing and boss damage dealing abilities that put it above all other non-prismatic subclasses. 3) Berserker: Strand titan is still incredibly strong. Even after nerfs, Banner of War + Into the Fray create amazing survivability and ad clear builds and can do amazing damage to bosses. 4) Sunbreaker: This subclass is not very good in general content, but it is outstanding for survivability in difficult/solo content. The nerf to throwing hammer made this subclass a little less desirable especially because it happened when Banner of War came into the game, but its aspects are pretty strong and you can have a very hard time dying using Sunbreaker, and the buff that Hammer of Sol got not long ago was very nice and much needed. 5) Sentinel: These last two are difficult because I think they are both very solid, but I don't know how much it makes sense to use them over Prismatic. Void titan has gotten a handful of buffs to Unbreakable and in the past to Offensive Bulwark. Overall, it's pretty good, but it got its most use recently when Sentinel Shield was bugged and doing crazy damage to bosses. 6) Behemoth: This subclass is not bad by any means, but it is not worth running over the others in my opinion. Icefall Mantle's buff makes this subclass pretty strong because it gives another layer of survivability and healing, but for the most part, its not super impressive now that the stasis artifact mods from the last episode are gone. Its super is VERY strong depending on the boss it's being used on, but it's also on Prismatic and it's really hard to compete with that as an option. Warlock: 1) Prismatic: Most used still, Getaway Artist and Bleak Watcher + Feed the Void is still unbelievably good and even after some aspect and spirit perk buffs on the exotic class item, Prismatic Warlock as a whole feels solidified as the best warlock subclass with some great customization that titan lacked forever until Unbreakable and personally, Khepri's Horn and Spirit of Khepri were all buffed. Lightning Surge also feels amazing on Prismatic which is a huge plus. 2) Dawnblade: The strongest non-prismatic subclass that isn't Striker Titan imo. The level of healing Solar Warlock brings to the table is uncontested, even with recently nerfed Speaker's Sight. It is very strong and even when you aren't the Well for your team, there are still amazing and effective options in this kit that make you an ad-clear machine like Song of Flame and Dawnblade after the roaming super buffs. 3) Voidwalker: This subclass is still super strong despite Feed the Void being a key element in making Prismatic Warlock so strong. Enhanced Devour is incredibly powerful and Child of the Old Gods is a strong weakening, slowing and ability/health regenerating tool. It's only downside is that it doesn't feel very customizable since it only has 3 aspects still and Chaos Accelerant is incredibly niche and used with 1 or 2 exotics. 4) Stormcaller: This subclass is now very good after its most recent buffs, however, it feels like it is being helped a lot by the artifact this season and several arc exotic armor piece buffs. Stormtrance and Chaos Reach feel very good now, but they feel their strongest and most useful when using Stormdancer's Brace and Geomag Stabilizers respectively. Their buffs were very nice, but feel kind of mandatory if you wanna get the most out of these arc supers. Everything else on arc warlock feels very strong with it's only issue being a consistent source of healing, but warlocks have healing rifts anyway, so it isn't a big deal. 5) Shadebinder: I think many feel similarly about what is going to be talked about next, these next 2 subclasses have fallen from grace and almost have no reason to be used over anything mentioned above. Stasis warlock isn't bad by any means but it is painfully mediocre. All stasis subclasses have a harvest aspect which is better now but is still nothing compared to other healing sources. The Frost Armor buff helped these a lot, but my previous point about healing still stands. The only other stand out aspect on stasis is Iceflare Bolts, which is very nice but is more less a glorified coldsnap grenade when a target is shattered, which is strong but not game changing like other offensive warlock aspects. The best aspect stasis warlock has to offer is Bleak Watcher, which is available on Prismatic and can be run alongside Feed the Void to get Devour on any ability kill. I think it's clear how much stronger that is. 6) Broadweaver: This one annoys me the most because there is much identity in this subclass. It has gone from one of the best ad clear subclasses to being hardly talked about. I mentioned a lot already about this subclass earlier, but I believe this is the currently the worst subclass in the game and the only one that was worse was Stormcaller before it got buffed. This subclass needs some serious help, it's niche of being the Threadling creator needs to be zero'd in on heavily to set it apart from the other Strand subclasses because currently, it feels like Prismatic Warlock can handle the Threadling creation part of Strand better than Broodweaver, but it doesn't have access to any of the Strand Fragments that benefit Threadlings Damage, Threadling Generation and Grenade generation on sustained damage. It also doesn't have an alternative access to Woven Mail outside of Thread of Warding, which is heavily limiting to survivability. Weavewalk offers survivability too, but that is entirely dependent on your melee cooldown, which personally, isn't worth building into. I think Weavewalk needs to be de-coupled from the strand melee so it doesn't feel as restricted and have a set cooldown like Icarus Dash, Gunpowder Gamble and Ionic Sentry that is not nearly as long and changes depending on how long you've stayed in the weave. I hope Broodweaver gets some meaningful changes soon, it needs it desperately. Hunter: 1) Prismatic: This subclass was the best of the best for a while, but I think after the Combination Blow nerfs and the Titan buffs, it's safe to say that this subclass has fallen just a little bit, but not by much. It is still very much the best option on Hunter and has the best assortment of Exotic Class Item perks to pump it up even more. 2) Nightstalker: I put Nightstalker second because it has risen to popularity recently as the lock in choice for hunters during grand master nightfalls and difficult content. Invisibility is very very powerful, I can't overstate that enough, it is the key reason why Prismatic Hunter is so powerful because of Combination Blow and Winter's Shroud + Stylish Executioner. It is the strongest Hunter melee build. This subclass has 4 aspects all related to turning you or you allies invisible and that is very strong in almost all situations. 3) Arcstrider: Many things that were wrong with Arcstrider before have been buffed. Tempest Strike feels way better, Disorienting Blow doesn't feel like a waste compared to Combination Blow, Arc Staff got the roaming super buff and many arc hunter exotics such as Raiden Flux, Raiju's Harness and Blight Ranger have been buffed as well. Arc Hunter feels very complete now, not being locked to only using Lethal Current and Flow State + Combination Blow. I've seen many more people run Flow State + Tempest Strike or Ascension now and it's really good to see that this subclass has options now. 4) Revenant: This subclass feels way better than any of the other Stasis Subclasses at the moment. It has a pretty strong (recently buffed) super, a great movement aspect as well as just solid aspects all around. It has very strong exotics such as Mask of Bakris, Mask of Fealty and freshly buffed Renewal Grasps. Some of what makes Stasis Hunter very good is on Prismatic, but not all of it, and that's what makes it stand out from the other Stasis subclasses in my opinion. 5) Threadrunner: This subclass almost suffers from the problem the last subclass has, and that is the fact that most of what makes Strand Hunter great is on Prismatic. Threaded Specter is an incredibly strong aspect that virtually makes you invisible in PVE, which is also on Prismatic, not to mention it makes Threadlings, something that seems like should be a little more exclusive to a certain Threadling making subclass (Buff Broodweaver please). The only similar thing each Strand Subclass has over its Prismatic counterparts are their aspects that augment Tangles. Titan and Hunter having the two strongest in my opinion while the Warlock aspect is good for movement and nice for suspending things every once in a while. Whirling Maelstrom is incredibly good for DoT damage and unraveling enemies, which hunters don't have access to outside of grapple. Strand Hunter also has two grapples and the ability to create grapple points, which no other class can do at base without the assistance of The Navigator. Its super is strong, but it can be buffed even more since it is on Prismatic. Threadrunner is very good, but it doesn't have much of an edge and there aren't many reasons to run it over Prismatic.
