BLIGHT Elemental... TAKEN powers as the last SUBCLASS!
Ever since Destiny 1, I've been thinking about how cool it would be to be able to use TAKEN powers... weapons of sorrow are of the BLIGHT element... Touch of Malice, Thorn, Malfeasance, Witherhoard, Blight energy, right?
Sloane seems to be somewhat in control of the Blight... Eris is very much in touch with it as well...
I believe, that Eris will try to take over Oryx's throne, take full control over the Blight, and become the absolute leader of the Hive and TAKEN... and when that happens, the Three Sisters will have no other choice but to teach the GUARDIAN how to wield and control the power of the TAKEN Blight element...
TAKEN BLIGHT.

2 RepliesNah, it's going to be the pyramid tech. They foreshadowed that the next power would be orange and the last two dungeons have focused on us mastering this mysterious orange energy. Plus they flushed out the power set in final shape for the witness forces by adding buffs and debuff as well a verbs.

We won’t get a taken subclass but I’ve said so many times now that what we should get is a secondary source of power that we can choose that changes up our subclasses. They sort of touch on this in the seasons but I’d like to see it as a real power we can choose rather than powers we briefly use in a gimmick depending on the season. To elaborate on it further, I’d love those powers to be tied to specific “covenant” and an associated vendor. For example: Queen Mara and her ascendant power Drifter or Eris for taken blight power Mithrax for Splicer hacking power I’m sure we could all think of more. In terms of next subclass I doubt it will be anything we’ve seen before.

6 RepliesEdited by BarStool: 2/21/2025 12:55:12 PMA couple things. 1. Touch of Malice and Thorn are not blight weapons. Not like Witherhoard and Malphesance. Furthermore, Witherhoard and Maplhesance are not Weapons of Sorrow. Malpheasance is close, but it’s a washed up version of Thorn 2. Bungie will never give us a Blight Subclass, just like how they haven’t given us a Poison subclass. Bungie will provide us with a power we hadn’t seen before outside of teasers. It’s why I think we will never get a Resonance subclass or Nightmare subclass either. 3. Eris has refused Oryx’s throne multiple times. So has the Gaurdian. Hell, everyone sort of has Refused Oryx’s throne, and Oryx is clearly a bit pissy about that. I think this Episode will be focused on Oryx trying to forcibly make someone take up his mantle and his throne, especially since we see Oryx rebuke Xivu Arath for her hypocrisy. Edit: and following with the theme of Stasis and Strand, the next subclass will be something that interacts with the game outside of straight energy. Glaciers, Tangles, Threadlings, and Shards before the Elemental Font update. This subclass will have some form of interaction within the physical portion of the game. Edit2: and we aren’t getting a Kinetic or non paracausal or some power outside of Light and Dark because it needs to function within the lore of Prismatic. Prismatic is the harmonization of Light and Dark, so unless we get another Darkness subclass, it wouldn’t make sense for the subclass to exist within Prismatic.

I personally prefer Taken powers as it would finally feel like a DARKNESS power. Honestly the whole “darkness is about consciousness” angle they went with just sucks in my opinion.

9 RepliesTbh it’s probably going to be resonance or something. Orange is the predicted color and guess what type of proper noun energy is mentioned multiple times in game, is orange, AND is functionally Arc’s opposite? Resonant Energy. Illusions, constructs, etc
