Let me paint a picture for you. I had just been dumped by my girlfriend of several years due to her own bad habits when Spire of the Watcher was released. I had never seen such a cool dungeon before, and I loved it to death. After my first clear or so, i went to collections looking for the dungeon exotic. I was thrilled to see that it was not only a bow, which i love to use, but also solar, which greatly appealed to me as a Dawnblade main. I read the lore, and low and behold, the lore is about an essentially autistic AI. She is “non-communicative”. Both me and my younger sister are autistic to varying degrees. I immediately fell in love with the bow. I wanted it more than anything else. I farmed from Season of the Seraph until SEASON OF THE WISH to get that stupid bow. I finally got it and tried it out in both PvE and PvP (keep in mind, I mainly play PvP.) And I immediately discovered that it was the WORST WEAPON IN THE GAME. It deals LESS damage than a LIGHTWEIGHT BOW with almost DOUBLE the charge time. Other bows can’t benefit from the ring. The perk is easy to get up but it’s utter garbage, even with catalyst, both in tracking quality and damage. DPS check shows about as much as shooting the boss with any primary. It can’t stun champions. It can’t kill Guardians. WHY???? IT WAS NEVER GOOD! I feel personally insulted that something essentially autistic would be made this useless. It’s like Bungie is telling me i personally, as well as my younger sister, are not worth anything or good for anything. Like they’re saying it was MY fault i got dumped, that i wasnt good enough, and i’m angry about it. For the love of god, just buff the stupid trash bow. Or alternatively, explain to me EXACTLY why it needs to be worse than every other weapon in the game.
