There is absolutely nothing good about The Nether. Boring location filled with annoying enemies that has tracking shots, no health regen, limited revives and tanky bosses.
The main activity is literally those small objective on the Pale heart. Go to a group of ads and kill them.
The worst ones have to be the two ones that you take over a plate. One will just have one plate that you have to take over that has quite a lot of ads spawning and the other ones has 2 plates that you have to take over but with even worse enemy types that spawn in. You will have to deal with weavers that will just pull you around the f'ing map like crazy and they will also spawn Husks, not only will they spawn Husks but they will literally spawn them on top of you. Wtf.
Yeah great objectives in a mode without health regen.
Not to mention how this is also an open area zone with chests and recourses. So you will either waste your time running around collecting them, or waiting for your team to collect them or be a -blam!- and progress the mission and screwing your team over. Great job as usual Bungie.
I have played all but 2 seasons and i can say with confidence that this is easily the worst one yet. I never thought they would make an activity worse than Haunted, but here we are. Won't even touch this garbage unless they remove that stupid modifier that disables your health regen. It will still be garbage but at least it will be playable.

This is the best season in years. Those complaining have GOT to be bots man. It's not that hard at all.
-
Compared to most of the seasonal activities, The Nether is one of the better activities. Making the claim the OP is making tells me that they didn’t play the post-expansion content of Shadowkeep, The Witch Queen, or Lightfall.
-
lol yeah pretty much blows ! I did it once won’t be doing again . But that’s the great thing about d2 people have a choice . I’ve given up about frontiers now, new team new people who have no idea experience with destiny and everyone has left now who did know d2 . D2 is what it is now . I think most people have woken up and accepted .
-
They will blame the next drop off on that one day Sony was down. Just wait No Bungie it’s terrible gameplay that’s obviously designed for a specific group of people
-
Yeah I dont like it at all. It feels completely out of place in Destiny. And it's not a matter of skill. I've been flawless on it twice now. It's just a completely unfun game mode that shoehorns the need of hyper specific playstyle/load outs to get through it. I'm fine with that in GM's/hard mode raids. But not base level seasonal content that requires completion to progress the story.
-
all they care about is grind and difficulty, that jusy means theyxan falsely empower anything in the name of harder, look at Neomuna, a beautiful location where trying to do a lost sector solo is like trying to fo a dungeon anywhere else, result, you see far more people on 10year old locations
-
Sounds like an actual skill issue. Have you ever thought that simple is good? Not every new activity needs to be this complex mind blessing experience that really throws the community for a loop; and if it did I bet 1,000,000 glimmer you'd be here complaining about that too.

It's literally faster to regen health in this mode than it is in regular modes. The health pickups spawn from every other enemy you kill. Also, to the people talking about "shoehorning" you into healing builds. The irony of that argument is the the healing builds DON'T WORK in the Nether due to a bug that doesn't allow healing to scale to higher health pools ie. it's just healing you for the base health amounts...which is basically nothing compared to the health increase. This is literally the same whining as the Seraph event days because it was sliiiiightly more difficult than pure braindeath than D2 generally is...grow some thumbs and let the devs cook.

This season is really exposing those who are bad at the game
-
and I thought making Tonics was bad 🤣🤣🤣
-
I’d give deep dives the worst activity in my opinion. But I feel people just need to put the simplest build on for health regeneration and its not as brutal as everyone makes it out. Like if you don’t have at least one recuperation mod on then thats on you lol. As for the actual location, its a old and very loved location so I wouldn’t necessarily say its boring but the loop of doing the almost same static encounters each run gets boring yeah.

Edited by jpavo1: 2/11/2025 5:14:50 AMHonestly y'all all exaggerating a lot. It's not bad. I still think the Coil was a lot better and will remain peak seasonal activity, but the nether is cool too (with the exception of the mfkng tormentors and grims spamming their BS)
-
So and we have 6 day ago 40k online on steam… great work bungie!!! We will see next week…🤦🏻♂️
-
Are you sure? You Nether Know
-
I think The Nether is the best they’ve done since LF. The issue turning me off is the story getting ruined by not having voice actors perform the dialogue and not setting the game or the subtitle system up for the workload.
-
Idk, I found elders to be pretty shítty. The health regen is an issue right now, but the activity definitely feels better
-
It is playable. If I can cope with it, then anyone can as I am totally terrible at video games . Crimson is your friend with its health retention on kills. That, a decent grenade launcher or machine gun, and you’ll be fine.
-
You clearly weren't here for Seraph Towers.
-
I like it a lot.
-
Do you guys just copy and paste every season or actually type it out each time?
-
Really? Seems fine to me.
-
Yes sure season of the hunt activity was 100 times better... Seriously you have the right to not like the nether but you are objectively wrong.
-
I've only played it a few times so far, but it didn't seem that bad. Not yet at least.
-
Make a private match and tell your team to stick together. This gets rid of your issue. This episode is starting off strong, I’m bored already personally, so much more could’ve been occurring in this space. Dreadnaught was treacherous in D1 if you didn’t go in prepared, ogres and knights as soon as you spawned in, good times.
-
Been in it all weekend, the more boons you get the easier it is. Running it matchmaking as a threesome and really only dying because I did something stupid. I will say that if you are at low health the healing wells seem not to drop. Best advice I can give is choose your boons wisely, build your rank and it becomes easy. I haven't done the expert yet, I want to level up a little more.

Edited by Ferus Lux: 2/10/2025 1:29:00 AMYou can literally have a boon stacked class ability every 5-10 seconds that causes a 15% health heal pulse. Its so easy to just retreat and spam it. What's even funnier is a Glaive with Unrelenting alone combats all of these healing woes. I made a Lightning Surge+Elemental slide build with Assassin and Synthoceps destroys pressure plate encounters (or anything minus Tormentors, really) with cooldown boons and ability cycling mods. Melee, go invisible and run to health drops that you can buff to heal more, give you EVEN MORE ability cooldow reduction for picking them up and grant overshield. Assassin invisibility triggers off finishers too which triggers your classic finisher for a healing pulse and bulwark to gain more overshield from finishers and then repeat the whole chain and nuke everything. It's so easy to be OP if you actually explore and look for synergies.
