Friendly reminder that a while ago people were posting about how fanfiction writers were not supposed to be here. It isn't lore. The compromise was for the most part honored that fanfiction writers would use the tag #fanfiction to show it isn't lore.
Now the entire front page doesn't have a single use of it. Friendly reminder that people leave when lore gets overrun with people not following stuff like that and eventually down the road? When a group loses enough people to other tags? Bungie replaces that tag on the All Topics tab.
So this is just a simple ask: Fanfiction writers, could you please keep using the fanfiction tag? Thanks.

Here we go again...

2 RepliesYou’re saying garbage/weird fanfic #350 isn’t related to lore? Heresy.

1 ReplyEdited by Centaur-1: 1/1/2022 6:03:17 PMWhile I don’t particularly mind the fanfics(I have pages and pages of made up lore in my head), I think the use of a tag would be appropriate. I’m just glad we have such a creative community. When you think of it, it feels like Bungie really wanted their players to make up their own story. They left a million different ways for a guardian to be born, so many loopholes to thread your story through without breaking the “real” lore. Just look at how many origin stories a guardian could have. An Exo could’ve been left to rust in an abandoned Braytech or Ishtar facility on Europa or Venus and be found in the Dark Ages. A Human could’ve been killed on Earth during the Collapse and resurrected during the Battle of Six Fronts. That said, use the tag.

2 RepliesBut the lore and fan stuff are amazing!!! Lore people and fan people are scary smart!

2 RepliesEdited by Astrosa: 12/28/2021 8:10:51 AMKinda misusing the lore and fanfic tags. Feedback tag should be used instead 👍

17 RepliesI could be mistaken as it was a few years ago in D1, but didn’t Bungie say fanfic could/would be canonical? Because of the “executive decisions” pre-launch when they did Staten super-dirty and destroyed his narrative
-
21 RepliesWhy are you speaking for other people? Fanfiction belongs in the lore tab. It’s definitely not feedback.
-
14 RepliesIt was confirmed that fanfic is lore along time ago ;)
-
2 RepliesYou used the lore hashtag on this non-lore post. Oh the irony.
-
25 RepliesBetter yet, stop with the absolute nonsense fan fiction altogether. It makes me cringe every time. I can just picture these kids getting themselves off thinking about scenarios involving in-game characters.
-
9 RepliesOr, perhaps you fanfiction haters and fanfiction writers should team up and ask both for fanfiction forums??? Thinking is not hard FFS. One more Forum category will not kill Bungie, the website or the game...
-
Ah, the age old fight. Fanfic should be in creations imo but bungie said this is the place for it. As long as it is clearly identified as fanfic I don’t care, it’s annoying when you effectively get click-baited into a post thinking it’s about the lore when it’s not.
-
I mean If it’s that frequent of an issue that just says more about the lore of destiny at this point.
-
1 ReplyI know. It's usually terrible and it leads to things like Disney having to disown fanfic books in order to actually write a new Star Wars script.

Jet Set WillyIt’s the final countdown (oh oh-oh oh) - old
Bungie could have solved this by adding a fan fiction sub forum. A place for the fan fiction writers to post up their stories without concern for other people getting bothered by it not being tagged correctly etc... I remember thinking that Bungie's reasoning for not giving fan-fic a proper home was illogical and downright wrong headed at the time. Their decision doesn't seem any better through the passage of time either. -
11 Repliesdestiny lore hasn't been lore since D1s lunch... this is all fan fiction bro.
-
Agreed. Helped make people less mad when I wrote stuff. I can't say I look at the tags too closely, but it is important. Good work on the reminder!

1 Reply-blam!- cares? If people want to write their hearts out in the setting of destiny let them. Don't get mad at it

2 RepliesFriendly reminder to let sleeping dogs lie, creativity is best distributed wherever it fit, given none have been subject to admin attention it's safe to say that, via the new, kind way of thinking, that it's better to let people express their creativity without prejudice However the tip is appreciated but one thread,a few threads even, won't stop the flow of creative or non Canon shenanigans, we're human, live with it
