Bungie,
I only purchased Destiny 2 and a Season Pass to hang out with my friends. Some of those friends can no longer play D2 so we'll now find another game to play together. There's 40+ of us and we're all going to be spending our money else where.
Your failure here isn't just impacting a few who have directly experienced this issue.

I'll add that the game we're in is secondary to our group. So long as it's fun, multiplayer, and all of us can run it in a decent resolution, we're happy. We're working people that don't play 24x7. We have lives and families and just want a common place to hang out and be with our friends. There's a lot of games out there for us to choose from. If Bungie cannot meet it's obligation, then we're not hanging around. We understand that every game will have bugs and launches rarely go off without a hitch. What Bungie needs to understand is that their customer's are not cattle and will not calmly accept whatever is put before them.

Perhaps the next (tomorrow's?) poll should be about people who are harmed by this bug, not just people who can't start the game. If all of your friends came in and responded to a poll about that, it might help move the needle. Think most of them would? Perhaps you could make the poll yourself, if you like.
