Well they technically are the best. All of the streamers and YouTubers play the game more than most and majority of them are pretty well educated believe it or not. Im so over the manner in which this community treats content creators its absurd and immature. They're better than you and have more experience and are smart. Making content is their job so of course they're going to pour all their effort into trying to solve and clear Niobe Labs first.
I really dislike the term content creators. Entertainers is more like it and some might be fun to watch now and then, but “content creators” for me always has the connotation that they somehow create content for the game, which they are not, they just play the damn thing, showcasing it at best. I mean good for them that they found a niche, doing the thing that they like, but there is no new game content being created.
And an unfortunate side effect I find is that game companies seem to be relying on twitch streams for advertising a great deal. Don’t get me wrong, its good publicity, but it only promotes a certain type of game that can easily be showcased on twitch and that’s not always a better game, just one that’s easier to regurgitate to the masses.
Streaming/YouTube is their job. They are technically classified as digital media creators which is the same category as bloggers/vloggers and that general field of work. So no they're not unemployed. They're self employed.
And unemployed.
Most of them at least.
Whats that? YouTube and twitch aren't real jobs? Well don't tell Google and Amazon, they keep sending them money.
