This isn't about the comic for him. It's about intolerance. The bigger picture is a wink/wink nod to some white nationalist shit he is floating. Very few people liked the comic. As the OP said this is not about the comic for him. It's about what he sees as a liberal agenda to make him accept LGBTQ characters have a right to prominent roles.
