dojoville, starbucks
A tendrils of blue flame licked the walls of the Starbucks, leaving the wall blackened and scorched in its wake, as a shockwave resonated out of the cafe, shattering glass instantly and sending various coffee-related wares flying out, quickly followed by a man, with scorched hair and slightly burnt clothes, who was himself trailed by another bolt of aquamarine energy, which was ducked, and continued to completely bisect a nearby tree.
Out of the store stepped a woman, radiating a cruel blue that seemed to consume all colours around her
The man managed to get to his feet in time to see her emergence, and quickly took a cylinder off his belt and started to back away.
"Look, I didn't mean to offend you, and I don't really want this, so if-"
The woman cut in.
"Don't worry, you're not alone, in your situation, I don't think anyone could want this."
"Okay, I've got places to go, so-"
He was cut off by a high-pitched whine coming from the woman's hands as blue light began to crackle around them. He rolled his eyes, and pressed a button on the cylinder, as a light blue shield extended from it, only to be bleached white by a blast of energy coming from the woman's hands. the man crouched down, careful not to pet any part of his body out of the shadow of his shield, as if he was in the eye of a storm of white fire.
The cylinder started to beep urgently, as it began to heat up, it's batteries beginning to be overfilled by the immense energy collected by the shield. The man winced as the cylinder's heat began to cause pain, and connected it to a thin cable attached to his belt, which began to glow red, then yellow as it had to carry the load placed upon it. The belt started to light up, and sounded a bleep of contentment as all of the devices attached to it were charged, and the man attempted to take a device, looking like the cross between a swis army knife and a charge pack from the belt, burning himself on the cable in the process, and activated it, an orange light starting to glow from it, as he deactivated his shield, cursing from the burn.
Instantly a veritable shelf of white crystal formed where the shield was, refracting the light hitting in, which its self was crystallised, until a small wall of crystal separated the two. The man pressed a button on the device, and the wall of crystal began to expand towards the woman, who countered it with a stronger blast, which, of course, sped up it's spread, as it shot up the beam, until it reached it's source, the woman's forarms, by which time she realised perhaps she should stop. The man turned off the device and started to examine the work of art he had helped create, and then left.
"Excuse me?"
He turned around, to see the woman awkwardly leaning on her crystallised forarms.
"What?"
"Aren't you going to call the police, or...?"
The man shrugged.
"No, that stuff's hard light crystal, couldn't do -blam!- to it even if I tried."
With that, he walked off, internally mourning the loss of the Starbucks destroyed.
