Adolf unironically did nothing wrong
All he was trying to do was help Guts out on a rainy night but instead he got murdered by his own daughter. He lived a peaceful life and did nothing wrong, he was even a monk.

It's even more sad when you realize Guts accepted help for the first time in awhile, but they both die because of it. Guts just can't win.
