Anne finally released Zane, and looked up at him with teary eyes but a smile. She wiped them as she went to go join the others.
Alex, of course, walked in front of Zane, with a sly grin on his face. He lifted up the Infinite blade, flat up, so that the hilt was at his waste and the blade was up at an angle.
"She's seen some times, hasn't she?" Alex asked Zane, seemingly out of the blue.

"Ay, both our blades have old friend. Made mine when I escaped from the clan, when was yours made?"
-
"Hrmmm. I think you met the smith that made it right? Big ass dude, monotone, wore the weird gladiator mask? Some crazy necromancy beast or some shit. Anyways, he made me the original way back when, before I killed Majora even." He told Zane, as his eyes shifted to the sky. "Better question is...how far do you think she can fly...?"
-
"Ummm I'm not sure, why do you ask?"
-
"Because I'm thinking of setting a god damned world RECORD!" He yelled as he brought the sword over his shoulder like a Lance and arced it forward. The blade shot up out of the palace and into the clear blue sky. It shined like a star as the sun reflected off of it, and its power seemed to make it light aflame from the energy. And just like that, the blade disappeared behind the mountain scape. The fierce deity blade, the Infinite blade, had taken flight. "WHOO. That's a send off!" Alex declared as he proudly put his hands on his hips.

-
"Ya. It's WAY to late to change now anyways!" Alex said with a chuckle, before he looked genuinely at Zane. "Thanks, Zane. I know I was an ass when we met, but holy hell, you changed me around. Like, a full 180. If anyone else picked up my blade well...who knows where I would be right now."
-
"Hey, let's not think about what could have been. Let's focus on what did happen. We saved the world several times, killed majora, and set free our home. Pretty good run I'd say."
-
"Yup. 10/10, would do again. Maybe a little differently but like you said, no point in focusing on the past." Alex told Zane dismissively. "But...ah, screw it." Alex said as he gave Zane the bro'iest bro hug there ever was.
-
He chuckled as he returned the bro hug, patting his back. "Gonna miss you bro."
-
"Ya man, not gunna be the same without your grim attitude all the time." He told Zane jokingly.
-
"Yeah, definitely gonna be quite around without your snarkyness." He retorted
-
He raised his hands up. "Hey, guilty as charged!" He chuckled as he met up with the others. Then, it was Falk. He walked up to Zane, and let out a long breath. He looked like he was going to say something, but he couldn't find the words.
-
He simply offered his hand out to his old friend. Nothing needed to be said between the veterans. They spoke with actions rather then words.
-
Falk looked down at Zane's hand, and clasped it with his own. It was one of understanding, brotherhood and friendship. Falk looked Zane dead in the eyes, when he finally spoke. "I'm not coming back this time Zane. So, promise me you won't. I'd hate to not have a drink with you, in that bar we used to talk in. Remember that? Before Cole, before majora, before...all of it."
-
"Yeah, il try to stay out of trouble old friend. You enjoy your rest, you've earned it."
-
Falk gave Zane a sad smile as he let go of his hand, nodding, as if he was agreeing to it. He walked to the others now, standing with them. Cyrus, or fate, took a step up to be with them. "The time has come." Fate told everyone. "It is time for those of us who have passed, to move on. It is time for those of us who have sacrificed everything, to keep on going. Today is an end of things. But, also the beginning of something new. A new life, in a new place. But, we are still who we are, despite everything that has happened, and everything that will come to be." As Zane blinked, he seemed to almost black out for a moment. But when he opened his eyes and found himself still standing, he saw that everyone...was gone. Everything now was just...quiet. Peaceful. It was finally over and- "I FOUND IT! YAAA-wait where did everyone go?!" suddenly said a child like voice that came from behind Zane. As he turned, he saw skull kid, who had a satchel in his hands and he looked terribly confused. He was still spectral, but...why hadn't he gone yet?
-
"Skull kid? How come you haven't moved on with the rest of them?"
-
"Um, you are asking me that? Hehe!" He said curiously. "Anyways...I found something! For you! I couldn't head out without giving it to you!" he told Zane as he ran over to him, and began to reach into his satchel.
-
He kneeled down next to skull kid and waited, curious as to what he might have.
-
Out from the satchel, Zane saw a familiar instrument. An ocarina. It wasn't of course, the ocarina of time. Rather, this one was made of wood, carved from a tree. The way it smelt...it reminded him of the pines from the dojo woods, a place he had many adventures in. Particularly with the small, ghost like child in front of him. "I...wanted you to have this! To remember me by!" Skull kid told Zane.
-
He took the instrument and played the song of storms, the tune causing the wind to rustle the snow. "Thank you skull kid, il be sure to treasure this."
-
"Hehe, you remembered that song!" Skull kid said with surprise in his voice. He looked around as the snow settled down with awe and wonder. He then looked to Zane and hopped up and gave him a hug. "Still best friends, right?" The child asked Zane.

Edited by Zane the 3rd: 10/6/2017 3:15:57 AM"Always skull kid, nothing's ever gonna change that." He hugged his small friend tightly, rubbing his back.
-
Zane felt his eyes go dark for a moment, and as he opened them, he no longer saw a small figure in his arms. Only the air he breathed in and the hands he had. As he looked up into the sky, he saw that it was a fantastic blue. It was a while since he really got to look up at the sky. When there wasn't some conflict going on, or a problem to be solved or someone to be saved. It was just...the sky. His mind was clear. As he took in a deep breath, and the suns ray made him feel warm with comfort, he had a sense he had not felt in sometime. Peace.
The End
