The rapier would simply meet armor, wherever Ian had intended to stab. Te needle blade would bend back, while it would certainly snap in regular conditions.
And Victoria went right into combat. She suddenly swung her shield into Ian's rib cage, the crest flying towards his side with the intent to crush his bones.

The rapier, because magic, did not snap, and Ian was sent flying back into a wall from her shield. However, Ian teleported out of the way of the wall and into a rather soft pile of garbage. His lower right ribs were surely broken, and intestines ruptured. Ouch. Ian stood and brushed himself off, his balance somewhat... Right. He sheathed his rapier and let the chain, now glowing white with heat, drop from his sleeve. "Ow... That sword's no good against that armor, so I'll melt through it... probably boil you inside there... Shite, I don't need to kill you..." His muttered ramblings were barely audible from Vic's position, though she would need to stay away from that chain.

With Ian drawing his chain, Victoria simply slung her shield around her, almost releasing a sigh as he drew the chain. While she didn't hear him.. she was still suspicious on his continuous motives. If he was asking for a duel, he could at least ask for her to leave the armor, so A: they could duel, or B: trick her. Whatever the case was - her left hand now free, Victoria continued onwards with her longsword. What she needed bow was to trap the chain, then.. it was game from there.
