Although the staff didn't rely on magic, it did use some other strange method to power it. The crystal spun around more, turning orange as it did. Osprey then shot a stream of fire from it at Victoria.

With that, she raised her shield and crouched: Victoria could have quite literally walked through the flames thanks to her armor, though the shield certainly did it's work, the flames flying past her. She rose up, still on the defensive.

Osprey moved back and began cycling through the crystal's energy again as he moved.

The Sororitas wouldn't wait, oh hell no: she would brush off the heat before rising, sheathing her longsword. She would turn to then drawing her Bolt Pistol and taking aim, right at Osprey. Before she opened fire, she stooped her aim, before firing. A massive round would fly towards the earth, embedding itself into the earth before suddenly exploding. It would shower Osprey in dirt, as Victoria began her approach once more, this time with her shield in hand. She attempted to bash Osprey, this time into a wall.

She successfully bashed him into the wall as the crystal landed on yellow. He activated it and a large yellow transparent barrier flew out of it. It smacked into her and kept plowing through. It started to drag into ground with her, starting to crack along the bottom.

It helped that Victoria held an anti-magic weapon, since she figured that this was magical. And even then.. her weapon would've probably broken through. The shield in her hands shifted, before a blade extended outwards, the handle of the shield sliding into her hands as the skull crest became a pommel. From there, Victoria held a double-edged greatsword, of which she pierced the veil with, disrupting whatever magical energy entirely. She had two additional plans if it somehow wasn't magic.. one involved pure force, of which she was applying now. From there, Victoria quite literally cleaved out of the ball, before stepping out, staring upon Osprey silently. It clearly wasn't a melee fight anymore.
