I shrugged. "That's not as much fun. Also, considering the insanity of some of the stuff here I need to practice every skill and talent I have until I perfect it to even have a fighting chance at living here." Victoria kept on walking, leaving me with the stranger.

"And it had no affect on me at all since it's terrible advice for what I was just doing. I...I honestly don't know why you just said that, but okay. I guess that's the kind of stuff people around here say. They try to be all bad*ss and mysterious all the time when in reality they're mostly just old cliches. Most of them seem to be f*cking veteran war heroes, but have no idea how to fight. It's like I was dropped into an action movie. A really bad one at that." I wasn't someone that enjoyed being told what I already knew. Even if someone was trying to be nice. Hey, we're all *ssholes in some way.
