It seemed they were at some sort of an impasse, with both wishing to analyze their opponent's attacks and counter accordingly. Crow decided to make the first move, with an exaggerated lunge to her right–Markus' left–but attacking in a horizontal slash from her left, towards Markus' right. The lunge was meant to be a feint, a distraction.
