"Who's leone?" She asked, tilting her head, one of her ears slipping off her shoulder as she did so

"Oh, Leone's my boyfriend. He helped me get over my fear of other people in general. He's really nice." [b]Ry's smile grew larger. Very warm. Literally and figuratively.[/b]

She understood immediately, smiling a little wider but blushing just a little "That's very good, he must be a lucky man"

"You got your eye on anybody, Beta? There's only a few your age around here."

"umm.....well...." She went redder, rubbing the back of her neck

"C'mon! You can tell me! I won't tell a soul! I swear on my life!" [b]She puts her hand over he heart, this is how promises were made in her culture.[/b]

"Cross your heart? Okay then....his name is Nyxon...umm, I've actually been together with him for a while actually...." She blushed redder, her facial fur going pink as she went red under it, the tips of her ears doing likewise

[b]Ry smiles hugely as she takes another bite of her eggs. She would never have guessed that she would be dating Nyxon. He was a nice kid, at least.[/b] "Nyxon? I've met him. Pretty nice guy. I'd imagine he's good for you."

"Yeah, he...he's actually been very supportive, he's been there for me when my brother couldn't"

"Really? Where do you think he is now? I can go get him for you, if you want. Wouldn't be too much trouble."

"He's usually around the main courtyard, or in his friend's place, a sort of glade near the dojo If you could, that'd be great"

"I'll get him after your procedure. We might wanna get it out of the way before we get him to come. Wouldn't want him waiting all day for me to complete your eye and uterus transplant."

"Wouldn't he be waiting all day not knowing what happened?" She suddenly realizes something and starts to panic "What if he goes to visit me and finds the place shot up and blood everywhere? Oh god..."

"Listen... I'll go find him and tell him you're okay. I'll tell him to come by in a few hours. Is that okay?"

"Thank you, no really, thank you" her voice was relieved, and soft, her regal accent again presenting itself

"When do you want me to go? I'm free any time."

"Whenever its convenient for you, I know you don't have to do this"

"You're a patient of mine. I have to care for my patients, don't I? It's what doctors do, right?" [b]Ry looks at Beta in the eyes, and Ry's eyes say that she'd do it soon.[/b]

"thank you......and I wouldn't know, the doctors I knew...." she trailed off, but it was obvious she didn't include you among them "but....thank you, everyone needs a person like you in their life, Leone is a very lucky person"

"You knew some other doctors? Wait. No... No that couldn't be right... All those scars on you... Did they do that?"

She nodded slowly "all save for the one that......well, I got that one trying to run, they caught me and stabbed me when I fought"

"Is that what happened to your womb?! You poor thing!" [b]Ry spins her chair to face Beta, to see if she seemed upset at all.[/b]

She was looking down, absorbed in her own thoughts for a minute It was obvious that after yesterday, and what with the other horrors in her past, that she was reaching a breaking point

"Oh, Beta..." [b]Ry gets up and hugs the poor girl, squeezing her tightly. She knew that Beta needed some love, and if no one else would, she would provide it. Beta made her feel like she was actually making a difference in someone's life. Honestly, Beta felt kinda like a little sister to Ry.[/b] "Beta... You need someone to help you through this. I'm here for you. You're going to need some help, Beta. I know what you want to do to the guy who attacked you and Alex, but don't. If you see him, just tell me. I'll make him go away. Attacking him will make everything worse. I know what you're going through because it happened to my brother... Don't let what happened to him happen to you, okay? I don't think I could bear to see it happen to someone else I care about."

"All my life I wanted to stay out of this, but what choice do I have? When men attack my family and I could've made the difference but didn't........ Do you know how much it hurts, knowing that since I didn't do anything, I ended up crippled and Alex likely dead?"
