This is correct! Oh, no wait a minute, I did the nightfall 3x and only got a single strange coin, a couple of crappy motes and some blue armour. Everything's normal.

True. Someone else mentioned that it could start from the different races for the initial infection. 5 versions for the 5 alien races? And then after you catch it you can transmit it to guardians

I thought of that, but no one has gotten it from any other race it seems.

Yeah it seems to mostly just be cabal. But if people are getting it from raids too then the Hive and Taken must have it. Or they may have a small chance at giving it at least. Kinda confusing but it's nice to have a new mystery around.
