Canadians: why the hell do you bag milk?
I'm genuinely confused. And concerned.

If it works I wouldn't be concerned. "If it's stupid but works, that means it isn't stupid" - a relevant quote Kinda like the metric system debate. If someone else does it different but still gets it done, than it doesn't matter that it's different.
