From what I've heard, The First Curse really sucks compared to other guns lol
People never want to blame their lack of skill, so they have to find[i] something[/i] to complain about.
Apparently I'm "a kid" and a "f*ggot"(I'm a girl lol) and "gay" becuase I was using defender with no backup plans in Mayhem.
Funny thing about being called a kid is that they guy that messaged me didn't understand my AOL Free Trial joke I made(he was red barring like mad), telling me that I am way older than him :P

It depends on your playstyle. If you play aggressively, then yes it's a bad choice to use. If you're more reserved, it works really well.

i use the aggressive playstyle but the first curse works surprisingly well for me.

Good for you man. I do pretty good in 1v1 encounters if playing more aggressive, but outside of that I tend to get slaughtered. If it works for you then props!

Well, I would do awful with it lol I'm aggressive as hell xD Plus the only hand cannon I'm able to use in The Vanity, and I'm still not very good. I prefer slow-shooting Scout rifles. My friend told me TFC was pretty close to the original thorn w/o the burn, that was a while ago though, so it may have changed.

I just don't see that there is a 'bad choice' play style. I love seeing defenders in crucible - I main a Titan and probably prefer defender in PvE but don't think I could really run D in PvP. BTW, have you tried Hand of Judgement for a slow firing scout? Variks gave me one with high cal rounds, hand laid stock and hidden hand/firefly. Oh my!

I run Colovances Duty or Jade Rabbit depending on whether I have a free exotic spot. The game refuses to give me scouts .-. All I get is Auto Rifles, and the only Auto I like is Monte Carlo, I've never been able to use another one. Variks likes to give me rocket launchers... every. single. time. ;_;

I'd gladly lend you some. I have like 20 scout rifles of various archetypes because that's all I get. :/

Best you can do is give it a few tries. You'll either love it or you won't. I also like the slow-shooting scouts. I've found a renewed appreciation for jade rabbit, which I used for the scout rifle portion of the quest :)
