I hate rap, also some of that techno or edm (Idk what the hip kids call it), where the song is like 15 minutes long. That's just to much

Not all of them are drawn out and are repetitive house is yes but a lot of the EDM sub genres aren't such as drum n bass, or glitch hop, look up monstercat on YouTube they're a company/label that showcases all different kinds of EDM from over a 100 artists there's got to be something you like
-
My brother listens to it, I don't like most of it cause it sounds kinda annoying. I've heard some I like, but for the most part I don't really like it.
-
You're better than most people here tho at least you say you like some of it and show some respect for the genre most people are like whoever invented it needs to die and shit
-
It's the internet, people exaggerate what they say because of anonymity. Just because I dislike something doesn't mean I dislike people who like it. Everyone's allowed to listen to whatever music their heart desires
-
That sounds like it sucks having to listen to that
-
What is edm? Several other people have mentioned it but nobody told me what it was
-
Edm stands for electronic dance music. I like it personally, but it is definitely an acquired taste. In terms of where it stands with electronic music, it goes like this from softer songs to harder: edm, house, deep house, trap, dubstep. Some trap songs are pathetic rap songs that wouldn't be in here, but other songs typically called trap tend to be harder than house.

It's the kinda music they play at raves, the songs are very long and drawn out & most sounds the same, so it gets repetitive. Here's an example
-
What do you mean by long? It's average song length, so I don't quite understand that. But repetitive, yes, very. The idea behind the music is to reuse the previous bass drop to save time and because the focus isn't on the musical complexity; it's behind the energy inducing feeling behind the music. Of course, a lot of it is subjective, but as a more or less EDM fan that's how I always thought of it.
-
I've heard some songs that were like 10 or 15 minutes long. I'm sure not all of them are like that, but when it's already repetitive, making it that long is unnecessary

Thanks for the explanation
