Very true, I went to Miami to visit her family once, culture shock isn't enough to explain what I felt. The language barrier, food, greetings, the way they treat women, it was......interesting.
I'm sure she felt the same when I took her to my small ass hometown. I wouldn't say my family culture shocked her, just the town itself.

For me, I can barely understand any accent that isn't american. So it definitely be hard for me, but still a life experience.
